Francis C. Waid chronicled life in Crawford County and along the road in the late 1800s. He
complied his family sketches, thoughts, impressions, and "little transactions of common events of life" into three
volumes titled Souvenir. Excerpts from this work are presented here. Hundreds of Crawford County residents are
