Centre County Wills & Estates
- Estate records have been recorded at the county level since the origin of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in 1682.
- Before 1800, for the area now known as Centre County, estate records can be found in Cumberland, Huntingdon, Lycoming, Mifflin or Northumberland Counties.
- Centre County's wills and estate files 1800-1990 can be found at the Centre County Library and Historical Museum in Bellefonte. This includes the County's earliest estate files which may include wills, but often are established for persons intestate (that is, without the deceased having left a will). An index can be found at the Pennsylvania Room of the Library.
- See also the Centre County Register of Wills office at the Willowbank Building in Bellefonte.
- Centre County Wills can be posted online and searched:
- Centre County USGenWeb Archives: Wills
- PA-Roots Centre County Board: Wills
- RootsWeb Centre County Message Board: Centre County Message Board
- Some of the names include Robb, Craig, Gardner, Hull, McGhee, Ream, and Young.
- To see only Wills from the Centre County Message Board:
- From the Message Board, click "Centre - Family History & Genealogy Message Board" and "Advanced Search."
- Click "Centre Board" and select "Will" from the "Message Classification" pull-down menu.
