Above is a group of the mule drivers who were employed at the Briar Hill mine, which was located south of McDonald near Laurel Hill.  The picture, made available by James WALKER of near Muse, formerly of McDonald [Pa] was taken around 1907.

According to Mr. WALKER, the men shown, left to right, are John CAVANAUGH, Henry STEINHOUSE, William "Peck" JOHNSTON, Daniel McGOVERN, Michael LOSAN, James CRAIG, Thomas McGOVERN, and James WALKER.  

In the background are James McFARLAND and Ralph KAY.
