About This Web Site

My name is Bill George and I volunteered, and was accepted by the PAGENWeb staff to maintain this Indiana County GenWeb project, web site on August 20, 2012. This web site had been maintained by Carla A. Currie for some years. Carla also contributed to Treasures of the Past and PAGenweb Archives. I hope I can continue the good work Carla started.

I have direct ancestors who were born and raised in Indiana, Pennsylvania. One might have even owned the Indiana Foundry, an iron works company in the early 1850s (Samuel George b. 1815 from Indiana, PA, m. 1851 to Emily Davis, d. 1889 Sandy Lake, PA). I'm searching for evidence of him and his ancestors of which I only know that his father was from Ireland, per the 1880 census. So, there is a vested interest in this web site.

I'm currently reviewing links, web pages and local resources, intending to add content and maintain high quality. I'm working on it daily.

The primary research help for queries are the Indiana County Forums, but I'm gathering information on who might also be able to assist visitors. So please check the links and resources. Helpers and lookup volunteers are being enlisted to help.

Several people were recently verified, who volunteered to help in areas described on the Lookup Volunteers web page. Anyone who would care to volunteer to do lookups, and have their contact information and area of interest listed, please contact me and you will be added. Thank you all, so much.
