The earliest burial in the Forkston Cemetery that carried a date was 1843.   By July of 1890 there were 232 graves in the cemetery.  Room was running out.  And so it was in 1890 that the Forkston Cemetery Association, to quote from its Letter to the Public, undertook "...the work of founding a cemetery for the last resting place of the dead of this community."  The Association was incorporated, additional land was purchased and a set of Rules and Regulations was established.

In recognition of the 125th year anniversary of the Forkston Cemetery Association in 2015, the Officers and Board of Directors invite you to take a moment and reflect on those who came to call The Forkston Cemetery their final resting place.
