JOHN SWENEY
IN the town of Fayette on the 20th inst., Mr. John Sweney. aged 84 years.
Mr. Sweney was born in Centre County, Pennsylvania, December 1796, removed to Ohio in 1848; came to Wisconsin in 1857 and settled in Monroe, lived there until a year or two, when he made his home with his daughter,
Mrs. Allen in Fayette, where he died on Saturday, the 20th inst., after a brief sickness. He has lived in widowhood with his children for 18 years-- has been identified with the Methodist church for 80 years. He lived to gain the confidence and respect of a large acquaintence. He has been regarded as industrious man, good neighbor and faithful father. He leaves three sons and three daughters.
He served in the 22nd Regt. US Regular Brigade.
