My g-g-grandparents were married in 1855 in Newmanstown, Lebanon County, PA. They were in Missouri by 1860, but had relatives still living in PA. Susan Parsons, born 1836 and died 1910 in Wathena, Kansas, had a sister, Lottie Parsons, born 1851, another sister, and a brother living in Red Oak, PA in 1850. I could not find Red Oak on the map, but assume it was close to Newmanstown. She married John Mathews in 1855. It was his second marriage. I find no trace of them on any census records until 1860, Missouri. I would be happy to have any information on these families, or of Red Oak, PA.
John Matthews had two children with his first wife, Theodore Adolph Matthews, b. 1845 and Lucy (Lou, Lucinda) Matthews, born 1848.

As I am a PA expat currently living in the United Kingdom it is difficult to find information at a certain point.
According to the bio for my gr-gr-great-grandfather Cosmus S. Clendenin in "History of Cumberland and Adams Counties, Pennsylvania" (Warner Beers, 1886, p492), Cosmus S. was born in Lebanon County to William Clendenin and Mary M. (Snoke) Clendenin. William and Mary Clendenin had three children, William (b.1827), the aforementioned Cosmus S. (b.1833) and Mary A. (b.1842).
The 1850 census for Derry Township, Dauphin County clearly shows William Clendenin (aged 50), Mary (aged 45) and the three children by name, as well as, apparently, Mary's father Henry Snoke (aged 75 in 1850). Everything connects the Cosmus S. Clendenin bio to this William Clendenin (including the shared trade of shoemaker). The 1840 census only confirms head of family, but William Clendenin is there and the appropriate ages for most others in the family seem to be present. In the Campbelltown section of "History of the Counties of Dauphin and Lebanon" (Egle, Everts & Peck, 1883, p219), there are a William (b.Feb1800-d.1874) and Mary Clendenin (b.Oct1807-d.April1877) listed as buried in the Salem Church (Luthern and Reformed). The dates seem correct so I am guessing this is the father of Cosmus S. Clendenin and, therefore, my gr-gr-gr-great-grandfather.
What I am looking for is any information regarding William Clendenin (b.1800) and Mary Snoke (b.1807), such as where they originated from, parents names, property, etc. As a PA expat living in the United Kingdom, being so far away it is difficult for me to push further than the information I now have. Elsewhere on this site (http://www.chm.davidson.edu/PAGenWeb/Q1998.html) someone asked about a "Cocmus or John Clendenin who are buried in Campbelltown, Lebanon co. circa 1780" and this intrigued me immensely.

John Forry married Esther Zerbe at Trinity Tulpehocken Church, Jackson twp, Lebanon County on 28 Oct 1832. I am trying to confirm who their parents were. I am assuming that they lived somewhere near Lebanon County. John was born 25 Mar 1805 maybe in Heidelberg twp, Berks and Esther was born 20 Nov 1814 according to the Forry Family file. There was another Esther Zerbe born 13 Nov 1812 but I don't think they are the same person. It might be possible that one is the birthdate and the christening date. Anyone have information on the Forry/Zerbe families? John and Esther move on to Union/Snyder county around 1839/40. John Forry is the great grandson of Michael Forrer, but the generations between seem jumbled.

Jacob Behney, son of Peter Behney of Heidelberg tp., then Lancaster County, moved to East Hanover tp. in the early 1780's. On the 1790 Federal Census, he is enumerated next to Casper Kreiser.
Two children of Casper Kreiser married women surnamed Behney.
Casper Kreiser, Jr. (1767-1854) married Christina Behney.
Frederick Kreiser (1774-1849) married Eva Behney.
Surely, the Kreiser children married daughters of neighbor Jacob Behney. The said Jacob Behney had a brother Melchior with daughters of the appropriate age; however, Dauphin County Orphans Court and Deed records both prove definitely Melchior's daughters and their husbands. Melchior Behney cannot be the father. Jacob Behney's other two brothers did not have children of the appropriate age to marry the Kreiser brothers. There are no other Behneys. Jacob Behney must be the father.
But it is not so easy. The compiled records below do not suggest daughters of the appropriate name--although there are marriagable daughters of the appropriate age. Were names confused? Or was, say, Elisabeth born Christina Elisabeth (as was her aunt)?
Regardless, I am seeking hard data on Jacob Behney. I have compiled census records and the church records below. Apart from that, I have no record of his life and times in East Hanover tp. Seeking any correspondance that can help elucidate his immediate family. (Data follows)
