John Wesley Nichols was born 28 Jan 1839 in Meadville, Crawford County. By occupation, he was a bricklayer.  He served in the same military unit as his brother, Simon Nichols.

He married Sarah Elizabeth Dearborn 10 Sept 1860.  They became the parents of nine children. View photo of Sarah Elizabeth Dearborn.  

 

In 1866, they moved west to Omaha, Nebraska, with a group of Civil War Veterans.  John Wesley Nichols died in Omaha on 11 Nov 1910.  His wife remained in Omaha, until her death in 1925.
