IRWIN F. RATZELL

 

IRWIN F. RATZELL, 86, of Trumbauersville, died July 8, 2003 in Belle Haven Nursing Home, Quakertown.

He was the husband of EVELYN A. (FOX) RATZELL. They were married 64 years last August.

Born in Trumbauersville, he was the son of the late MORRIS and ADA (HUNSBERGER) RATZELL.

He retired in 1982 after 42 years of service as a machinist in the Air Craft Instruments Department of the U.S. Gauge/Ametek Division in Sellersville.

He was a lifelong member of Christ Church of the United Church of Christ in Trumbauersville, where he served on the church property committee.

He was a former member of the Quakertown Community School Board for 12 years, and a member of the V.F.W. Forrest Lodge Post #245 in Sellersville.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during WWII in the Pacific as an instrument specialist.

He enjoyed his family and friends of the community, and in addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, LYNN I. of Nazareth; one daughter, KAREN A. WEIKEL of Sellersville; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sisters and three brothers.

Services were held July 12.
