FRANK N. BALOGH

 

FRANK N. BALOGH, formerly of Revere, Pa., died Friday, Aug. 8, 2003, at Neshaminy Manor, Doylestown, Pa., where he had lived for about two years. He was 81.

Born in Revere, he was a son of the late RUDOLPH and ELIZABETH (MILUTIN) BALOGH.

Mr. Balogh was a meat-cutter by trade. He was last employed at Acme Market in Doylestown, where he worked for 22 years. Before that, he worked as meat manager at Quakertown Ice and Storage and at Easton Mohican Stores. He was a member of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union, Local 56.

He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II, serving in battles and campaigns in Burma, Central Burma, India and the China offensive. He received the Good Conduct Medal, the American Theater Service Medal, the Asian-Pacific Service Medal with three bronze stars and the Victory Medal. He was a member of the American Legion Palisades Memorial Post 399, Kintnersville, Pa.

He had been a member of Durham Evangelical Lutheran Church since 1983.

Mr. Balogh was a charter member of the North-South Skirmishers Association.

He collected and restored antique farm engines. He also kept chickens, enjoyed birds, gardened and raised roses, and appreciated music, art and nature.

Funeral services were held yesterday at Durham Evangelical Lutheran Church, followed by burial at Nockamixon Union Cemetery, Ferndale, Pa. Arrangements were by Robert W. Snyder Funeral Home, Riegelsville, Pa.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
