A very pretty wedding was that of Miss Gladys MCCONNELL, daughter of D. L. MCCONNELL of Cecil, and Roy YOUNG in the home of the bride. Only the immediate families were present. The bride was graduated from Cecil high school in the class of 1932. The bridegroom graduated from Cecil high in the class of 1933. After a short tour, the young couple will be at home in a newly furnished apartment in Cecil.

BROWNLEE - YOUNG

On Saturday afternoon, October 24th at 4:30 o'clock in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Shelly IRVINE of Steubenville, ohio, occurred the marriage of Miss Louise Templeton BROWNLEE, daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. William T. BROWNLEE and Mr. William Alvin YOUNG, son of W. H. YOUNG of McDonald, Pa.

The ceremony, most beautiful and impressive, was performed before an embankment of palms and ferns, intermingled with yellow and white chrysanthemums, and was read by the Rev. J. B. CAVITT of Hamilton, Ohio, uncle of the bride, assisted by the Rev. W. B. WATSON of Knoxville, Ohio and Prof. W. R. WILSON, D. D. of the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. The ring ceremony was used.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her uncle, Mr. Shelly IRVINE, wore a gown of white chiffon embroidered in crystals and rhinestones, her tulle veil being held with a silver band and carried a shower bouquet of sweetheart roses and lilies of the valley. Miss Martha WILSON of Ben Avon, cousin of the bride, as maid of honor, was attired in a gown of blue chiffon velvet and carried an arm bouquet of pink roses. Mr. James MCBRIDE of McDonald was Mr. Young's best man.

Preceding the wedding march from Lohengrin played by Miss Mary WILSON of Ben Avon, Miss Katherine OGILVIE of East Liverpool, Ohio, sang "O Promise Me" and "At Dawning," accompanied at the piano by Miss WILSON.

A reception and wedding supper, with covers laid for thirty-five, supplemented the ceremony, the colors being carried out in yellow and white.

Mrs. YOUNG is a graduate of Muskingum College and last year was a teacher in the McDonald High school, while Mr. YOUNG is editor and publisher of the McDonald Outlook. Following a wedding trip by motor, Mr. and Mrs. YOUNG will be at home to their friends in North Third street, McDonald about November 15th.

Engagement Announced

At a luncheon given Tuesday afternoon by Mrs. L. C. FAIR in her home in Third street, the engagement of her daughter, Miss Gladys FAIR, to Mr. William H. YOUNG of Carnegie, [Pa.] was announced.  The guests were the members of the Five Hundred Club and the Girls Club.  A four-course lunch was served. The favor were corsage bouquets of sweet peas in which the cards announcing the engagement were concealed.  The wedding will take place in June.

On Wednesday evening a very quiet but beautiful home wedding took place when Miss Gladys FAIR, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. C. FAIR of Third street, McDonald, was married to Mr. William H. YOUNG of Carnegie, Pa. Only the two families of the bride and groom and the Girls Club, of which the bride is a popular member, were present. There were no attendants. The bride wore a traveling suit and hat of light gray and a corsage bouquet of pink sweet peas. The entire first floor of the house was profusely decorated with pink carnations and smilax, while in the library, where the ceremony was performed, the mantel was banked with pink roses and ferns, and every other available space was filled with pink roses. A wedding supper followed the ceremony and the happy couple departed by automobile for a two-weeks tour. The out-of-town relatives included Mr. and Mrs. L. M. COLGROVE and Mr. and Mrs. G. W. FAIR, grandparents of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. Robert YOUNG, parents of the groom and his brothers, Joseph YOUNG and Albert YOUNG, with their wives; Miss STALEY and Miss SHOMO, cousins of the bride. Mr. and Mrs. YOUNG will be at home after July at 511 Steen street, Carnegie.

Young-Smith--On Tuesday evening, November 1st, at the residence of the bride's mother, in the east end, by Rev. W. D. Irons, Mr. William H. Young and Miss Sadie Smith.

Mr. and Mrs. Young departed on the 9 p. m. train in company with Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Williams, also married the same evening, for an Eastern tour. When they return they will live in Mr. Young's new
residence on Station street. A great many valuable presents were made to the young couple by friends.

Mrs. Amelia WALMER of Marland heights, Weirton, W.Va., announces the marriage of her daughter Miss Helen to Pfc. William Patterson YOURD, son of the J. D. YOURDs, 318 Third street, McDonald.

The couple were married Wednesday, November 4, 1942, in the Lutheran church, Muskogee, Okla.

Private first class YOURD is stationed with the headquarters and service company, 12th hospital center, Camp Gruber, Okla. He is a 1938 graduate of McDonald high school and before his induction into the army was employed in the general offices of the Weirton Steel Co., Weirton, W.Va.

Mrs. YOURD, a graduate of the Weirton high school, is employed in the general offices of the Weirton Steel Co.

YUROSKY - CLAYTON

Mrs. R. L. CLAYTON of near Venice announces the marriage of her daughter Elizabeth Virginia to John YUROSKY, son of the late Mr. and Mrs.  Andrew YUROSKY of Primrose. The ceremony
was performed at 7:30 o'clock Saturday evening, October 25, 1947, in the manse of the First Baptist church, Washington, by the pastor, the Rev. W. M. KENNEDY.

The bride wore an aqua suit with brown accessories and carried a corsage of roses. Mrs. YUROSKY is a graduate of Cecil township high school and has been an employee of G. C. Murphy's in McDonald the past three years. Mr. YUROSKY attended Mt. Pleasant high school and is employed by the Utah Construction Co. near McDonald. He is a World War II veteran and returned in December from Korea after serving 23 months in the service. After a wedding trip to Ohio, Mr. and Mrs. YUROSKY are at home at 342 Fannie street, McDonald.
