Noblestown Church Scene of YOHO-KERR Wedding
Miss Louise M. KERR, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William J. KERR of Chestnut street, Noblestown, and John R. YOHO, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. R. YOHO of North street, McDonald, were united in marriage at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 20, 1947, in the Noblestown United Presbyterian church. The pastor, Dr. R. L. LANNING performed the double ring ceremony before an altar decorated with ferns, gladioli, and lighted candelabra.
The bride wore a gown of white satin and a veil of white net fashioned with orange blossoms, matching those on the front of the gown, and a necklace of pearls. She carried white roses. The maid of honor, Miss Vera A. COOPER of McDonald, wore a gown of pink taffeta and pink net, a necklace of pink pearls, and a pink hat with mits (sic) to match. The bridesmaid, Miss Aline FRAZEE of Noblestown, wore a gown of blue satin with blue pearls and bracelet and a blue hat and mits (sic). They each carried a bouquet of spring flowers. Howard FRANKLIN of McDonald served as bestman and the ushers were Lawrence BRINKMAN, JR., and Howard BERTHOLD, both of McDonald.
The wedding music was played by Mrs. Frank KEENAN of Noblestown and Miss Gloria EBEL of Noblestown sang "Through the Years" and "Because."
Following the ceremony a reception for eighty-four guests was held in the church. After a trip to Cook's Forest, the young couple are
[at] home, 107 North street, McDonald.
The bride is a graduate of [North?] Fayette high school, class of ___ and is employed by Huey's Ma___
[Market?], Oakdale. The bridegroom, a ___ graduate of McDonald high
[school] is a clerk at Columbia Steel [and?] Shafting Co., Carnegie.

YORKE - BRACALE
Mr. and Mrs. J. BRACALE of Canonsburg announce the marriage of their
daughter, Miss Rose Marie [BRACALE] to Henry Martin YORKE, son of Mr. and Mrs.
J. YORKE, Sr., of Muse. the wedding took place at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 1947, in St. Patrick's Roman Catholic church, Canonsburg,
with the Rev. Fr. J. Edward ISTOCIN performing the double ring ceremony before an altar
decorated with ferns and lighted candelabra.
Nearly 200 guests attended the reception which followed the wedding.
The bride is a graduate of the Canonsburg high school and is employed
by KUHN's Cleaners, Canonsburg. The bridegroom is a graduate of the
Cecil township high school and the Duquesne university and is employed as a research worker in the American Cyanimid Company, Bridgeville.
He served over three years in World War II, being a member of the Combat
Engineering Corps.

STEELE - YOST
[ YOST is the Groom. ]
A very pretty wedding occurred in the home of Mr. and Mrs. James S. STEELE at Sturgeon on Wednesday evening, September 9th at 7:45 o'clock when their daughter, Ella Mae became the bride of Mr. Herman YOST of Sturgeon. The Rev. John H. DEBOLT, pastor of the Methodist church, performed the ring ceremony before an background of palms and cibodium ferns. The bride wore a sleeveless gown of white crepe medeci trimmed with Venise lace. Her tulle veil was arranged in cap effect and had a triple bandeau of orange blossoms which terminated in a cluster at each side. She carried a shower of white roses and lilies of the valley. Mrs. Esther Kennedy, a sister of the bride, was matron of honor and wore a gown of yellow chiffon and carried a bouquet of pink rosebuds. Miss Anna STEELE, a sister of the bride, was bridesmaid and wore a gown of orchid chiffon and carried a bouquet of pink rosebuds. Dorothy Marion McKINLEY of Carnegie and Betty DOWLER of Sturgeon were the flower girls and wore frocks of yellow voile. Mr. Seigfried YOST, a brother of the groom, was best man. Mrs. Fred LILLO of Oakdale played "At Dawning" preceding the ceremony and this was followed by the bridal chorus from Lohengrin. During the ceremony she played "To a Wild Rose" and concluded Mendelssohn's Wedding March. After the ceremony a reception and dinner was held. The dining room was tastefully decorated with golden rod, brown-eyed Susans, orchid asters and cosmos. Covers were laid for twelve at the bride's table. The centerpiece was a large wedding cake surrounded by asparagus ferns interspersed with orchid cosmos and golden rod. Late in the evening the happy couple left for a wedding trip through the Great Lake region including a trip to Albany, N. Y., Boston, Mass. and Portland, Maine. The bride wore a traveling costume consisting of a dress of golden brown crepe back
[sic] satin with hat and shoes to match.

A quiet home wedding occurred at the residence of Mrs. M. H. BROWN, of Arabella street, Thursday evening. The contracting parties were Miss Jessie M. BROWN and John E.
YOTHERS, of Ellsworth, Pa. The ceremony was performtd
[sic] by Rev. W. D. Irons. D. D. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Susie M. BROWN and Howard L. AYERS attended the groom. Only the immediate friends and relatives of the contracting parties were present. Amid showers of congratulations the happy couple left on the 9 o'clock train for Scottdale to visit the parents of the groom, who will hold a
reception for the young people this Friday evening. They will go to housekeeping
at Ellsworth where the groom holds a responsible position with the Ellsworth Coal Co.

YOUKERS - STEWART
Mr. and Mrs. Jay V. STEWART of Imperial have announced the marriage of their daughter, Miss Allene Hays STEWART, to Ensign Ralph Dale
YOUKERS, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph YOUKERS of Butler. The candle light ceremony took place Saturday, December 26, 1942, at 7:30 p.m. in the home of the bride. The Rev.
C. E. DAVISON, pastor of the Valley Presbyterian church, Imperial, officiated.
Mrs. Norman B. KUHN of McDonald, an aunt of the bride, sang "O Promise Me," accompanied at the piano by Miss Emily STEWART, also an aunt of the bride.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white satin dress fashioned with a sweetheart neckline and long fitted sleeves. Her fingertip veil was held in place by a band of orange blossoms. For her "something old" she carried her paternal great-grandmother's Bible.
Miss Elizabeth STEWART, sister of the bride and bridesmaid, wore a dress of gold satin and marquisette with a headdress of matching ostrich plumes. She carried red carnations. Ensign Raymond UDDSTROM of Swissvale served as
bestman.
The couple will reside in Bloomsburg.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the STEWART home.
Both Mr. and Mrs. YOUKERS attended Westminster college. Mrs. YOUKERS was a member of Kappa Delta and her husband was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon.
