WILLIAMSON - REED

Miss Virginia REED, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James REED of Burgettstown, and Lt. George L. WILLIAMSON, son of Mr. and Mrs. George WILLIAMSON of Midway, were united in marriage at 7:30 o'clock Sunday evening, May 28, 1944, in the First Presbyterian church, Burgettstown. The double ring ceremony was performed by the bride's cousin Rev. Paul TIDBALL, pastor of the Evans City Presbyterian church, before an altar of cibodium ferns, palms and cathedral candles. He was assisted by the Rev. Jacob C. RUBLE, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, Burgettstown, and the Rev. Philip HORNE, pastor of the Midway Baptist church. 

Nuptial music was played by Miss Celestine STIEVENART, the organist, and Miss Martha CARMEN sang "O Promise Me" and "Because."

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an ivory satin gown, fashioned with long sleeves and tight bodice, with a long train. Her fingertip veil was caught by a tiara of orange blossoms. She carried an arm bouquet of white roses and stephanotis with white satin ribbon steamers. The maid of honor, Miss Frances BAMFORD of Midway, classmate of the bride at Grove City college, wore a full- length pale blue marquisette gown. She carried an arm bouquet of pink roses and delphinium. The bridesmaids, Miss Patty WESTLAKE, Miss Betty FRANZ, Miss Eris CULLEY, and Miss Mary NAIRN of Waynesburg, Miss Mariam CAMPBELL of Oakdale and Miss Mary Louise TIDBALL of Youngstown, Ohio, wore gowns of pastel shades and carried arm bouquets of spring flowers, matching their gowns. James WILLIAMSON of Midway served as his brother's bestman and the ushers were James REED Jr., brother of the bride, Jack WILLIAMSON, brother of the bridegroom, Paul CARMEN, and Fred BLANCHARD.  The bride's mother wore a tailored aqua jersey gown and a corsage of talisman roses and the bridegroom's mother wore a tailored blue jersey gown and a corsage of talisman roses. 

Following the ceremony, a reception for the immediate families and members of the bridal party was held in the church social rooms. The bride's table was centered with a beautiful cake bearing a miniature bride and bridegroom and garlands of spring flowers. As the cake was being cut, a medley of romantic songs was sung by Miss Mildred DESCUTNER and Mrs. Evelyn DESCUTNER KENNEDY of McDonald. Mrs. L. W. COFFER of Burgettstown entertained during the reception with piano selections. Aides at the reception were Grove City college sorority sisters of the bride, D.O.R. members Frances PURDY, Mary Lee PUCKETT, and Jane VOSBURG, and Mrs. Wendell BRABSON, Betty Lou HAMILTON, Margie HIXON, and Lucille MOREAU.

The young couple took a brief wedding trip before Lieutenant WILLIAMSON reported to Louisvile, Ky. He recently received his wings as a pilot in the Air forces at Douglas 
field, Ariz. Mrs. WILLIAMSON plans to join her husband soon.

George WILLIAMSON, engineer at the Lawrence Natural Gas Company plant above town, and Miss Annie BERGIN from this locality were married on Wednesday, April 16, in the city. When Mr. WILLIAMSON and bride returned home they were given a rousing serenade.

Miss Emma DIDIOT, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert DIDIOT of Bulger, and Ralph WILLIAMSON, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. WILLIAMSON of Midway, were united in marriage at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 1942, in the home of the officiating minister, the Rev. Alfred HUBBARD, pastor of the Center U. P. church, Midway.

The bride wore a white pique suite with white accessories and a corsage of talisman roses and a strand of pearls. The attendants were Mr. and Mrs. William HALEY, Jr., of Bulger. Mrs. HALEY wore a white print dress with white accessories and a corsage of tea roses. Miss Simone DeVALKENEER of Midway also witnessed the ceremony.

A reception followed the ceremony.

Mrs. WILLIAMSON is a 1938 graduate of Union high school, Burgettstown. The young couple reside with the bride's parents.

Miss Dorothy Jean DAVIS, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John B. DAVIS of Imperial, and Pvt. Stanley E. WILMONT, stationed with the Army air corps in New York, son of Mr. and Mrs. George WILMONT of Clinton, were united in marriage Saturday, March 18, 1944, by the Rev. S. G. NEAL, pastor of the Hebron Presbyterian church. 

The bride wore a marine blue suit with matching accessories and a corsage of roses and gardenias. 

Private and Mrs. WILMONT are 1941 graduates of Findlay high school. Mrs. WILMONT is employed by the Dravo Corp.

WILSON - KIMBEL

Miss Margaret Helen KIMBEL, daughter of George KIMBEL of Imperial, and Arthur D. WILSON, supervising principal of the Findlay Vocational school, Imperial, were united in marriage at 10:30 o'clock Thursday morning, June 15, 1939, in the Valley Presbyterian church, Imperial, the pastor, the Rev. Clarence E. Davison, officiating. The bride wore blue crepe with a blue hat and white accessories. Her Bible corsage was of yellow roses and lilies of the valley. After the ceremony, a reception was held in the home of the bride's sister, Mrs. George N. ALLISON. There were ten guests. After a Southern motor trip and a cruise along the Atlantic coast, the newlyweds will reside in Imperial.

Mrs. WILSON is a graduate of Waynesburg college and a member of Theta Phi Sigma sorority. She taught Latin and dramatics in the Fredrickstown high school for eight years. Mr. WILSON is a graduate of Penn State college.
