Miss Velma L. CARTER, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. J. CARTER, Sr., of Valley street, R.D. 1, McDonald, and Booker T.  WILLIAMSON of Washington, D.C. son Mrs. Hattie WILLIAMSON of Apopka, Fla., were united in marriage at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 24, 1943, in the First Baptist church, McDonald, by the pastor, the Rev. D. B. MDPDANA [sic].

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white satin gown with long sleeves and a yoke of marquisette and a fingertip veil of tulle. She carried a bouquet of white roses interspersed with lilies of the valley. The matron of honor, Mrs. Samuel HARRIS of McDonald, sister of the bride, wore a white satin gown with a net skirt and white accessories. She carried a bouquet of American Beauty roses. The bridesmaids were Miss Nancy CARTER, sister of the bride, and Miss Jeannette CARTER, cousin of the bride, who wore white lace gowns with net skirts and white accessories, and Miss Susie CARTER, sister of the bride, and Miss Frances Lydia CARTER of
Charleston, W. Va., cousin of the bride, who wore white net gowns with white accessories. All attendants carried bouquets of American Beauty roses. Sterling CARTER, Jr., brother of the bride, served as bestman and the ushers were Randall HOOE [sic] of Washington, and Raymond CARTER, cousin of the bride, William WELLS and Jerry THORNTON, the latter a brother-in-law of the bride. The flower girls, Beverly Lynn CARTER and Dora Mae FLETCHER, nieces of the bride, wore white satin dresses with white accessories and carried baskets of white snapdragons. The ringbearer was Charles Edward TYLER of McDonald.

Mrs. William LEWIS of McDonald played the wedding music and Mrs. Jerry THORTON, sister of the bride, sang "Because," "I Love You Truly," and "O Promise Me."

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the CARTER home. There were 200 guest with 22 seated at the bride's table.

The young couple took a trip to Canaan, Conn., and are now at home at 3200 Park place, N.W., Washington, D.C.

Mrs. WILLIAMSON is a 1933 graduate of McDonald high school. Mr. WILLIAMSON, a graduate of the Palmer Memorial institute, Sedalia, N.C., is employed by the government in Washington, D.C. [Rest possibly belongs to the next article and is crumbled and wrinkled.]

WILLIAMSON - JACOB

Miss Virginia Marie JACOB, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew JACOB of McClain street, Aliquippa, and Clare WILLIAMSON, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh WILLIAMSON of Midway, were united in marriage at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 11, 1946, in St. Patrick's church, Aliquippa. The pastor, the Rev. Edward ZAUNER, performed the single ring ceremony. 

The bride was attired in a poudre blue street-length dress with black accessories and carried a white satin prayer book with an orchid marker. The maid of honor, Miss Virginia M. SAEGER of Aliquippa, wore a beige dress with black accessories and a corsage of white carnations. Bernard JACOB, brother of the bride, served as bestman. The bride's mother wore a green dress with brown accessories and a corsage of yellow roses and the bridegroom's mother wore a pink dress with black accessories and a corsage of yellow roses.

Following the ceremony a reception for nearly 50 guests was held in the home of the bride's parents. The young couple then left for a motor trip to New York and Canada. Upon their return they will be at home in Carnegie where Mr. WILLIAMSON is manager of the AUTENREITH Dollar store.

Mrs. WILLIAMSON is a 1937 graduate of Aliquippa high school and Mr. WILLIAMSON is a 1935 graduate of the Midway high school. He served five years in the army, eight months of which were spent in Casa Blanca. Pre-nuptial events included a miscellaneous shower held at Bailey's restaurant, Coraopolis, by Mrs. Charles O'LAUGHLIN and Miss Virginia SAEGER.

WILLIAMSON of Carnegie, formerly of McDonald, and Miss Ethel Marie BRADLEY, daughter of Mrs. Francis POPPELREITER of Carnegie, were united in marriage at 9:00 o'clock Wednesday morning, January 11, 1939, in St. Luke's church, Carnegie. Miss Sue BRADLEY, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid. Charles WILLIAMSON, the groom's brother, was bestman. Miss Lorraine WILLIAMSON, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Betty ASHNOR of Squirrel Hill were maids of honor. Thomas MULLEN of Carnegie and William PIAZZA of Noblestown were the ushers. The bride was attired in white satin with a long veil and wore a corsage of white lilies. The bridesmaid was attired in light blue satin and carried roses. Mr. WILLIAMSON graduated from McDonald high school in 1932. The bride is a graduate of Oakdale high school. A wedding breakfast was served in the bride's home and supper was served in the bridegroom's home. The young couple left for a trip to Washington, D.C., and returned this Wednesday. They will reside in Pittsburgh.
