Miss Manelva E. HOLDEN, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.W. HOLDEN of Washington, formerly of Valley street, McDonald, and Staff Sgt. Mervin W. WILLIAMS, son of Mr. and Mrs. John WILLIAMS of R.D. 1, Bulger, were united in marriage at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 23, 1942, in the home of the officiating minister, the Rev. Edward C. LINN, pastor of the Jefferson Avenue Methodist church, Washington, in the presence of the immediate families and friends.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the HOLDEN home.

Sergeant WILLIAMS left Christmas day for Camp Chaffee, Ark., where he is stationed with the U.S. army. Mrs. WILLIAMS resides with her parents for the present.

A beautiful wedding was solemnized [missing=at the] home of Mrs. Adelaide BAIRD in [missing]-ington [Washington] on Thursday afternoon, Oc-[missing=October] 
18, 1917, at four o'clock, when her [missing] [missing], Miss Mary BAIRD ENLOW, of Can- -urg [missing=Canonsburg], became the bride of the Rev. [missing=Frederick?] -erick WILLIAMS, pastor of the Pres- [missing=Presbyterian] -rian church of Dallas, W. Va. The [missing=officiating] -iating clergymen were the Rev. J. M. [missing] -ARD of Smyrna Del., and the Rev. [missing] MORTON, a classmate of the bride-[missing=bridegroom; i.e. the groom and Rev. MORTON were classmates]. The bride wore a beautiful gown [missing=of?] white satin, with pearl trimming, her [missing=hair] being caught up with orange blos- [missing= blossoms] She carried a shower bouquet of [missing=bride's] roses and swainsonia. The color scheme for the house decorations and refreshments was of pink and white. The bride was a Washington Seminary girl and the groom was a graduate of W. & J. College, also of the Western Theological Seminary and Columbia University. Those from Imperial who attended the wedding were Miss Minnie HARPER, Miss Alice PURDY, and W. J. WILSON, Jr.

WILLEY - WILLIAMS 

A pretty wedding took place at nine o'clock Christmas morning, December 25, 1923, when Miss Mina I. WILLEY, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William F. WILLEY of Wellsburg, W.Va., became the bride of Sylvester J. WILLIAMS, son of Mr. and Mrs. Melchoir WILLIAMS of Sturgeon [Pa].  The wedding took place in the parsonage of the Methodist Episcopal church in Wellsburg, the Rev. Mr. ANDREWS officiating.  The bride wore a traveling suit of blue with a hat to match and carried an arm bouquet of brides' roses showered with lilies of the valley.  Mrs. William GREEN was Miss WILLEY's matron of honor and carried a bouquet of pink rosebuds.  Miss Bernice WILLEY and Miss Anilda WILLEY, sisters of the bride, and Miss Anna NORTHMAN? were Miss WILLEY's bridesmaids.  William GREEN was Mr. WILLIAMS' best man.  The parsonage was beautifully  decorated in palms and cibodium ferns.  A wedding dinner at the home of Mr. WILLIAMS  supplemented the ceremony at which covers for twenty were laid at the bride's table.  A reception and dinner at the home of the bride was an event of [the] Christmas evening at which covers were laid for thirty-five.  Mr. and Mrs. WILLIAMS will reside in Sturgeon [Pa].

Williams-Pooler. Married -- On Tuesday evening, July 26, at the residence of the bride's father, Mr. Edward Pooler, on Fannie street, McDonald, by Rev. W. D. Irons, Mr. Thomas J. Williams and Miss Mary Pooler.

A large number of beautiful and useful presents were received. After the ceremony supper was served, and the happy couple left on the 9 o'clock train for a tour through the east. Mr. Williams is one of the bright young business men of our town, and the many friends of both familites unite in wishing Mr. and Mrs. Williams many years of connubial joy.

Miss Clara Kathryn RICHARDS of Oakdale and Mr. Thomas M. WILLIAMS of Bisbee, Arizona, were married Wednesday, July 2, 1924, in the M. E. parsonage in Houghton, Michigan. Mr. and Mrs. WILLIAMS will visit in Michigan and in Minnesota, return to Oakdale for a short stay, and then go to Bisbee, Arizona, to make their home. Miss RICHARDS is well known in Oakdale, where she had been a dressmaker for many years.
