Wedding Announcement Hess WILLARD to Ruby Evans, October 1911 From The McDonald, PA Record of 8 March 1912, page unknown:

WILLARD - EVENS

Kept Wedding Secret Four Months

After keeping their marriage a secret four months it leaked out last Friday that Miss Ruby EVANS, one of the best known young women of Carnegie, is now Mrs. Hess WILLARD, wife of the Rev. Hess WILLARD, pastor of the Ebensburg (Pa.) Christian Church, and has been since last October. Not wishing to cause any excitement the young couple decided late in the fall to get married quietly.

It was not until a few days ago that even the bride's parents knew of her marriage. She is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reese EVANS of Carnegie, one of the town's oldest families. It has been the custom of Mr. and Mrs. EVANS to spend their winters in the south, but Miss EVANS, now Mrs. WILLARD, refused to go and Mrs. EVANS would not go without her daughter, and so North Carolina was not visited by them this winter, as has been their custom.

Mr. WILLARD' s parents live in the Reeder house in Station street, McDonald. Miss EVANS is an accomplished musician, both vocal and instrumental, and occupies the position of contralto at the First Baptist Church in Carnegie. Mr. WILLARD until recently was pastor of a Christian Church at Johnstown. He is a native of Carnegie.
