VANDALE - AYRES
Mr. and Mrs. W. E. AYRES of Gladden heights announce the marriage of their daughter Edith Leona to Mr. August E. VANDALE, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest VANDALE, Sr., of Cowden.
The marriage took place at 8:55 a.m. Monday August 24, 1936 in the living room of the AYRES home, which was tastefully decorated in garden flowers. An uncle of the bride, Dr.
A. A. LOVE of the Mt. Washington United Presbyterian officiated.
The bride wore a floor-length gown of white embroidered linen lace, made cape style. Her accessories were white and her flowers were American Beauty roses and Babybreath.
Miss Loretta AYRES, her sister's maid of honor, wore pink organza with blue accessories. She wore a shoulder corsage of Talisman roses and larkspur. Ernest VANDALE, Jr., served as his brother's best man.
The bride's mother wore a dress of rose flowered crepe and a shoulder corsage of Talisman rose buds. The bridegroom's mother choose blue flowered crepe. Her corsage was of American Beauty rose buds. The bride's maternal grandmother attended the ceremony in a printed crepe with orchid accessories. Her corsage was spring flowers.
Both Mr. and Mrs. VANDALE are graduates of the Cecil high school,
class of 1930. The bridegroom is a graduate of Carnegie Tech and is employed as a mining engineer by the Pittsburgh Coal Co.
The couple left immediately on their honeymoon and will be at home after September 15 to their friends in Montour No. 2. R.D. 3, McDonald.

VANDALE - HETHERINGTON
Mr. and Mrs. Alex HETHERINGTON of Union, New Jersey, announce the marriage of their daughter
Elsie to Ernest VANDALE, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest VANDALE, Sr., of R.D. 3 McDonald.
The marriage took place Wednesday, January 13, 1943, at Westminster college, New Wilmington, with Dr. Robert F. GALBREATH, president of the college, officiating.
The bride was attended by Charlanna WATSON of Butler, J. Dale WHITING of New Bradford, Pa., served as Mr. VANDALE'S
bestman.
Mrs. VANDALE received her B.A. degree at Westiminster last May, having majored in speech and dramatics. She was very active in Little Theatre work and president of Masquers, honorary dramatic fraternity, her senior year, being a member of Upsilon chapter of Theta Upsilon. She received a commission as ensign in the WAVES at Smith college, Northampton, Mass., on January 8. She has assumed her naval duties in the East.
Mr. VANDALE, a graduate of Cecil high school, attended Carnegie Tech and received his B.S. degree at Westminster in May. He was a member of Alpha Nu chapter of Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity. He is now employed as an instructor in Cecil Township

VANDALE - ARMSTRONG
The marriage of Margaret C. ARMSTRONG, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James QUERNS, and Peter J.
VANDALE, took place Wednesday,
November 7, 1934, in Washington. The ceremony was performed by Rev. John H.
DEBOLT, pastor of the West Washington M. E. church.
Mr. and Mrs. L. H. FULLER of Washington, brother-in-law and sister of
Mrs. ARMSTRONG, were the attendants. After a short wedding trip Mr. and Mrs. VANDALE returned to McDonald, where they are at home
at 214 Fannie street.

A social event of much interest was the marriage February 19, 1924, of Miss Helen A. McGRAW, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred McGRAW, and Mr. Harry F. VANDENBORD, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank VANDENBORD of Ambridge, formerly of Midway. The bride was dressed in a beautiful gown of gray taffeta and carried a shower bouquet of roses and white lilacs. A reception was held at the home of the bride following the ceremony. After a short wedding trip Mr. and Mrs. VANDENBORD will be at home to their friends at 1816 Duss avenue, Ambridge. Mr. VANDENBORD is well known in McDonald, having lived in Midway a number of years. [

McDonald, was united in marriage to Mr. Charles VANDERGRIFT of Woodlawn,
Wednesday, November 29, 1922, at six o'clock in the evening. The marriage was
performed at the manse of the First Presbyterian church, McDonald, the Rev. B. B. HARRISON, the bride's pastor, officiating. Mr. and Mrs. VANDERGRIFT
left on the seven train for Woodlawn where they will make their home with the
groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. BUTTERMORE, until spring, when they will go to
