TURCZEK - GRILLO

A pretty wedding was solemnized Thursday morning, June 24, in St. Mary's Catholic church, Cecil, when Miss Julia GRILLO, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis GRILLO, became the bride of Adam TURCZEK, son of Ignatius and the late Kathryn TURCZEK. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Fr. KOPERA, pastor of St. Mary's church.
The bride was gowned in white satin with veil and accessories to match and carried a bouquet of roses. There were two bridesmaids, Miss Mary AZZARRO of Wilkinsburg, who was gowned in pink lace net with accessories to match and carried pink roses and snapdragons, and Miss Carmel GRILLO, sister of the bride, who wore a blue satin redingote gown with accessories to match and carried pink roses and snapdragon [sic].

John AZZARRO of Wilkinsburg served as best man and Andy TURCZEK, brother of the bridegroom, ushered. The wedding music was played by Miss Mary QUINN at the church and by Willima [ROZANC] and John ROZANC of Houston at the home.

Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents with 100 guest present. Covers were laid for thirty at the bride's table.

The bride and bridegroom are both graduates of Cecil high school. The bridegroom is employed on the State highway. They will reside in the home of the bride's parents in Cecil.

TURI - DAVIDSON

Miss Helen L. DAVIDSON, daughter of Mrs. Olga DAVIDSON of Detroit, formerly of McDonald, and Russell H. TURI, son of Mrs. Mary TURI of Detroit, were united in marriage at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 1944, in the Ward Memorial Presbyterian church, Detroit. The Rev. Alvin MORRIS performed the double ring ceremony by candlelight before an altar of ferns.

The bride wore an ivory satin gown, fashioned on princess lines. She wore a tiara of seed pearls with a fingertip veil and carried an arm bouquet of white roses, sweet peas, and carnations. Her only attendant, Miss Genevieve BLAND of Detroit, wore a baby pink gown of marquisette and carried baby blue iris, pink roses, and pink carnations. Mr. HORNALL of Detroit sang "I Love You Truly" and "Because."

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the DAVIDSON home.

After a brief honeymoon to Chicago, the young couple will reside in Detroit.

Before an altar decorated with palms and ferns in the Roman Catholic church, Miss Ann ZEBECK, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. ZEBECK of Triadelphia, W. Va., became the bride of Frank TURKALY, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Steve TURKALY of Bulger. The double ring ceremony took place at six-o'clock, Saturday evening, November 1, 1947.

The bride wore a gold suit with navy blue accessories and a corsage of red roses and gardenias. The maid of honor, Miss Mary TURKALY of Triadelphia, wore a blue striped suit with black accessories and a corsage of red roses. Mrs. Steve TURKALY, mother of the bridegroom, wore a blue dress with black accessories and a corsage of red roses.

Following the ceremony a reception for 100 guests was held in the Joseph TURKALY home. The table was decorated with candles and a three-tiered wedding cake topped with miniature bride and groom.
Upon their return from a honeymoon to Niagara Falls the couple will reside in Triadelphia.

Mrs. TURKALY was employed for seven years in the Wheeling First National Bank. Mr. TURKALY served three years in the U. S. navy, two of which were spent overseas.

Those who attended the wedding of Frank TURKALY in Triadelphia, W.Va., on November 1 were Mr. and Mrs. William TURKALY, Mr. and Mrs. Steve TURKALY, Sr., and sons Robert and Slavko, and Charles SCRUPPI, all of Bulger, Mr. and Mrs. Steve TURKALY of McDonald, and Mr. and Mrs. Paul MILLER of Atlasburg.

Miss Doris VERNER, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dalton VERNER of Oakmont, formerly of McDonald, became the bride of Steve TURKALY, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mr. and Mrs. Steve TURKALY, Sr of Bulger, on Wednesday, October 1, 1947. The
double ring ceremony was performed in the First Presbyterian church, McDonald at 7:30 p.m. by the Rev. Joseph H. RODGERS before an altar decorated with ferns and gladioli.

Miss Hazel SPEER played the wedding march and  accompanied Miss Geraldine CHARLIER who sang "Because" and "Through a Thousand Years." Both wore corsages of red roses.

The bride given in marriage by her father, wore a white slipper satin gown fashioned with a high neckline, fitted bodice, long sleeves pointed at the wrist and a full skirt ending in a two-yard train. Her fingertip veil was held in place by an open crown of seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of white lilies with white satin streamers. 
Her only jewelry was a string of pearls a gift of the bridegroom. The maid of honor was Miss Dorothy KRAPP of West View. She was attired in a fuchsia taffeta gown with headband of fuchsia braid. She carried a bouquet of pink roses with fuchsia streamers. Her bridesmaids were Mrs. William TURKALY, the former Dorothy SACCO of McDonald, and Miss Marjorie DUCRAY of McDonald. Mrs. TURKALY wore a yellow taffeta gown with headband of pink roses and yellow streamers. Miss DUCRAY wore a poudre blue gown with headband of pink roses with pink ribbon.  She carried a bouquet of matching pink roses with pink streamers. The maid of honor and bridesmaids received, as a gift from the bride, necklaces and matching earrings of rhinestones. The bestman and ushers received pins from the bridegroom.

Robert VERNER, brother of the bride, served as bestman. William TURKALY of Bulger, brother of the bridegroom, and James BLAKE of McDonald were the ushers. 

The bride's mother was attired in a gray dress with brown accessories and the bridegroom's mother wore a black dress with blue accessories. Both wore corsages of red roses.

Following the ceremony a reception was held in the American Legion Home for about 100 guests. The wedding cake was three-tiered and topped with a miniature bride and groom.

Mr. and Mrs. TURKALY took a wedding trip to Niagara Falls and are making their home in McDonald.

Mrs. TURKALY is a graduate of McDonald high school class of 1945 and is employed by the Peoples Credit Bank, Pittsburgh.  Mr. TURKALY attended Union high school for two years and is employed by the McDonald Coal Co.  He served three years in the U. S. navy, six months of which were spent overseas.

Miss Dorothy SACCO, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bartlo SACCO of McDonald, and William TURKLAY, son of Mr. and Mrs. Steve TURKLAY of Bulger, were united in marriage at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 1947, in the First Presbyterian manse, McDonald. The pastor, the Rev. Joseph H.
RODGERS, performed the ceremony.

The bride wore a white gabardine suit with matching accessories and an orchid corsage. The maid of honor, Miss Adella TURKALY, wore an aqua suit with white accessories and a corsage of pink roses. Marshall SACCO, brother of the bride, served as bestman.

Following the ceremony, a reception for 60 guests was held in the home of the bride's parents. Upon their return from a wedding trip to Geneva-on-
the-Lake, they will be at home in Valley street, McDonald.

The bride is a graduate of McDonald high school in the class of 1947. The bridegroom is employed at Standard Springs, Coraopolis.
