SVIHLA - RUSISKIE

Miss Ann RUSISKIE, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John RUSISKIE of the Westend, McDonald, and Mr. Andrew SVIHLA, son of Mrs. Andrew SVIHLA, also of the Westend, McDonald, were united in marriage at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 1940, in the First United Presbyterian parsonage, the pastor, the Rev. S.A. McCOLLAM, D.D., performing the ring ceremony.

The bride wore a blue dress with matching accessories and a corsage of white gardenias. The bridesmaid, Miss LaVerne SMITH of the Westend, McDonald, wore a dusty-rose dress with white accessories and a corsage of pink roses. Mr. Felix RUSISKIE of the Westend, McDonald, brother of the bride, was bestman. The bride's father also witnessed the ceremony.

Following the ceremony, a wedding dinner was served in the RUSISKIE home. There were approximately fifty guests seated at the table, the centerpiece being a large wedding cake and a bouquet of assorted flowers.
The young couple left Sunday morning for a short trip to Virginia and are residing in the Westend, McDonald. Mr. and Mrs. SVIHLA both attended the Cecil schools. Mr. SVIHLA is employed at Freet's garage, McDonald.

Miss Clare MATTUSCH, daughter of Mrs. Ida MATTUSCH of Carona, Long Island, N.Y., and Merchant Marine Edward C. SWAOGER, son of Mr. and Mrs. George SWAOGER, Sr., of R.D. 2, Coraopolis, were united in marriage at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, April 23, 1944, in Our Lady of Sorrow Roman Catholic church, Long Island, N.Y.

The bride, given in marriage by her uncle, Owen O'BRIEN, wore a white satin gown with a fingertip veil. She carried a bouquet of gardenias. The maid of honor, Miss Eleanor MATTUSCH, sister of the bride, carried talisman roses. Bernard SWAOGER, brother of the bridegroom, served as bestman.

The young couple spent a week in the SWAOGER home in Imperial.

SWAOGER - HANCOCK

The marriage of Miss Anna Margaret HANCOCK, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John HANCOCK of East Carnegie, to George Richard SWAOGER, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. George SWAOGER of Imperial, took place at St. Luke's church, Carnegeie [sic], Thursday, October 27, 1938, at high mass at 8:30 o'clock. 

The bride wore a white satin gown, with finger-length tip veil. The bridal bouquet was of talisman roses with babybreath. The maid of honor, Miss Margaret SWAOGER, sister of the bridegroom, wore a long teil-blue [sic] dress trimmed in burgundy, and burgundy accessories, and she carried a bouquet of bronze mums. The bestman was Edward SWAOGER, brother of the bridegroom.

The guests at the wedding breakfast included only the immediate families. It took place at the bride's home, immediately after the wedding ceremony. Later a reception given by the bridegroom's father, was held in his home in Imperial. Those present were the John HANCOCK family of Carnegie, the George SWAOGER family of Imperial, the Raymond O'DONNELL family of Heidelberg, the David HANCOCK family of Glendale, the Richard KUMER family of Lawrenceville, Mr. and Mrs. Charles PEROTT of the Westend, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas HALLAM of McDonald, the Stanley KALASKI family of Gregg Station, Miss Helen BARTHEN and Robert BELL of Carnegie, Miss Mathilda KUMER and Patrick O'HALLORAN of Pittsburgh, Miss Margaret HILLGROVE and Herman KUMER of Lawrenceville, Miss Margaret SWAOGER of Imperial, Albert REDMAN of Lawrenceville, the John MEDVED family of Imperial, Miss Ruth HANCOCK and John McINTRYRE of Carnegie, Miss Gladys HANCOCK and James O'TOOLE of Carnegie, Mr. and Mrs. Norman VIOHLE of Carnegie, Neil KEARNS of Carnegie, and Mr. and Mrs. Philip MAGER of Pittsburgh.

On the 24th, at the home of the bride's father, West Lincoln Ave., McDonald, by Rev. Dr. IRONS, Mr. John SWARTZ, of Meadville, Pa., and Miss Minnie J. BURNS. Over fifty guests were present. Many valuable presents were received. Mr. and Mrs. SWARTZ left Thursday for their future home in Meadville, where a new home ready furnished awaits them.

SWARTZ - SCHAUBEL

Miss Marion SCHAUBEL and Mr. Joseph SWARTZ, both of Philadelphia, were united in marriage Thursday afternoon, July 28, 1938, in the home of the bridegroom's parents. The ceremony was performed by a brother-in-law of the bride, the Rev. W. T. HEMPEL, pastor of the McDonald Lutheran church. The bride wore navy blue net with white accessories and a corsage of gardenias. The matron of honor, Mrs. W. T. HEMPEL of McDonald, sister of the bride, was the only attendant. Mr. William SWARTZ, brother of the bridegroom, was the bestman. A reception followed with sixteen guests. The young couple will reside at the summer home of the bride parents, Dr. and Mrs. Charles SCHAUBEL, in Ventnor City, N.J.
