Miss Virginia Mae COWDEN, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. Thompson COWDEN of R. D. 3, Burgettstown, and S/Sgt. Wilbur SMITH, stationed at Weston field, Chicopee Falls, Mass, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harris SMITH of Bulger, were united in marriage at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, 1943, in the home of the bride's parents. The ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. R. L. STEVENSON of Mt. Washington, a former pastor in Hickory, assisted by the Rev. R. C. SUTTON of Burgettstown.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore aqua and a corsage of orchids.

A reception followed in the home of the bride's parents. Among those present were three of the bride's grandparents, Mrs. Elizabeth COWDEN of Rea, Mrs. Elizabeth SMITH of Florence, and Wharten LENG of Pittsburgh; also Mrs. O. B. ROBINSON and daughter, Mrs. GREEN of Burgettstown.

The young couple left that evening by train for Aldenville, Mass., where they will reside.

I. KROHN, pastor of the Robinson's Run United Presbyterian church of McDonald. The young couple will reside at North Tenmile. Mr. SMITH is an uncle of Mrs. J. I. KROHN.
