Mr. and Mrs. Joseph SMITH gave a reception on Thursday evening, October 22, for their son, whose marriage to Miss Cora HUGHES of New Castle took place in Beaver Wednesday, October 21, the Rev. Mr. McCARTNEY of Beaver officiating. The guest list included relatives and several schoolmates of the groom. Among them were Mr. and Mrs. Harper SMITH of Glenwillard, Miss Kate SMITH of Pittsburg, Mrs. Agnes Caton, daughter and son of Coraopolis, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph PURDY, the Misses Etta MORRISON, Ada WILSON, Susan BURNS, Agnes WILLIAMSON, Nannie WHERRY, Alice PURDY, Karl and Sam MEANOR and Leonard McNALL, all of Imperial. Dinner was served at 4:30. Pink and white chrysanthemums were used in decorating the tables. After dinner the usual serenade was given, in which the Imperial brass band had a part. This was followed by music of all kinds, mostly discords.

SMITH - SECCO
Miss Argea SECCO of Joffre and Albert SMITH of McDonald were united in marriage at 2:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon, December 22, 1946, in St. Patrick's Catholic church, Pittsburgh.
For her marriage the bride chose a poudre blue suit trimmed with sequins and black accessories. Her corsage was of white carnations.
Miss Jean GILBERT, friend of the bride, as maid of honor, was attired in a coral wool dress with black accessories and a corsage of white carnations.
The bestman was Henry MUCHA, friend of the bridegroom.
Following the ceremony a wedding dinner was served in the bride's home for the immediate families.
The bride is a graduate of Union high school, class of '42. Mr. SMITH is a graduate of McDonald high school, class of '38. He served four years in the army with overseas service in the Pacific. He received his honorable discharge in November 1945.

Miss Lillian HALLAM, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John E. HALLAM of Home street, McDonald, and Alex SMITH, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alex SMITH of Barr street, McDonald, were united in marriage at 7:30 o'clock Friday evening, September 29, 1939, in the Robinson's Run U.P. Parsonage, the Rev. Ross T. CAMPBELL, D.D., officiating. The bride's parents and Mr. Robert B. HEINTZ of McKeesport witnessed the ceremony. The young couple will reside in the home of the bride's parents. Mr. SMITH is employed in the Thoroughfare market as meat cutter.
