Herbert W. SINGLETON and Miss Grace [ALLISON], daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. ALLISON, surprised their friends Tuesday by going to Wheeling, W.Va., where they were quietly married by Rev. C.A. ROBINSON, pastor of the First United Presbyterian church. They returned Wednesday evening and are receiving the congratulations of their many friends. For the present they are residing with the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. R. SINGLETON of Station street.

SIPP - JANOWSKY

Mr. and Mrs. William JANOWSKY of McDonald announce the marriage of their daughter Amelia Mary to Pfc. Edward G. SIPP of Pittsburgh. The ceremony was performed at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 24, 1943, in St. Alphonsus church, McDonald. The attendants were Miss Ida JANOWSKY and John SIPP.

The bride wore a soldier blue suit with navy blue accessories and a corsage of gardenias. Her sister, the maid of honor, wore a brown suit with matching accessories and a corsage of yellow roses.

The bridegroom served overseas for two and a half years.

Following the ceremony, a wedding dinner was served by the bride's parents.

Miss Betty CUPKA, daughter of Andrew CUPKA of Gary, Ind., and Mr. Frank M. SIRY, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael SIRY of Tyre, were united in marriage at eight o'clock Monday morning, August 21, 1939, in St. Columbkille's church, Imperial, the Rev. Fr. KUPIEC officiating.

The bride wore a white satin gown, princess style, with a long train and bridal veil, tiara style. She wore pearls and carried white lilies and babybreath. The maid-of-honor, Miss Mary JULA of Tyre, wore a rose satin gown, princess style, and carried pink rosebuds and babybreath. The flower girl, Harriet HOST, niece of the bride, wore blue net over blue satin, and carried yellow tea roses. Mr. Stanley SIRY of Tyre served as bestman. Mr. George JULA was the usher.

A reception followed in the home of the bride's sister, Mrs. S.A. HOST, at the Pike hotel. There were about 200 guests with twelve seated at the bride's table. A large wedding cake adorned the center of the bride's table. The young couple left on a motor trip to Canada and other points and after September 4 will reside in Tyre. Mr. SIRY is manager of the Tyre Federal Supply store.
The out-of-town guests included Mrs. Martha KNIPP, Michael CUPKA, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph KOLVECK, all of Gary, Ind., Mrs. Sophia SOPIERA of Greenfield, and Mr. and Mrs. Harry BONDY and Mr. and Mrs. Alex GRANT of McDonald.

Marriage Notice for Charles SKARUPA to Helen Kirr, Thanksgiving, 1947 From the McDonald, PA Record-Outlook newspaper of Dec. 12, 1947, page unknown:

Miss Helen KIRR, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred KIRR of Canonsburg, and Charles SKARUPA, son of John SKARUPA of Muse and the late Mrs. Mary SKARUPA, were united in marriage at 11:00 a.m. Thanksgiving morning in St. John's Russian Orthodox Greek Catholic church, Canonsburg. The Rev. B. C. HORSKY performed the double ring ceremony. 

The bride, given in marriage by her brother, Peter KIRR, wore a street length dress of white wool crepe and a white sweetheart net hat trimmed with a brown orchid and a shoulder veil. She carried a white prayer book topped with three brown orchids. Miss Julia SKARUPA of Pittsburgh, sister of the bridegroom, was maid of honor and she wore a light blue wool crepe dress with burgandy accessories and an orchid corsage. The bride's mother wore a black and white crepe dress and a corsage of red rosebuds. 

Following the ceremony, a wedding dinner was served at COLAIZZO's. Covers were laid for thirty guests. A four-tiered wedding cake centered the bridal table. Upon their return from a short honeymoon, they will make their home with the bride's parents. 

The bride is an employee of the Forbes Steel Corporation of Canonsburg and the bridegroom is employed by the H. C. Frick Coal Company, Muse.

Miss Anna TIZIK, daughter of Frank TIZIK of Cliff Mine, and Jacob SKERL, of Moon Run, son of Mrs. Jennie SKERL of San Diego, Calif., were united in marriage at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 1947, in Crafton.

The maid of honor was Miss Bertha SKERL, sister of the bridegroom, and William TIZIK, brother of the bride, was bestman. A reception for 50 guests was held in the evening at Grubbs Tavern, Cliff Mine. A three-tiered wedding cake formed the table centerpiece. Following the reception, the young couple left for a wedding trip through West Virginia. Upon their return they will be at home with the bride's father in Cliff Mine. 

Out-of-town guests at the wedding were Mrs. Jennie SKERL of San Diego, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Frank SKERL, Mr. and Mrs. ULANKER, Mrs. Frances BARLOWE, Frank AUPEL, and Mr. and Mrs. CHRISTIAN, all of Moon Run, Mr. and Mrs. Frank SKERL and family, Mr. and Mrs. Tony BETROCIC and family, and Mr. and Mrs. SKWARCHA and family, all of Carnegie.
