Miss Lorraine Alma WHALEY, stepdaughter of 
C. E. THOMSON of Carnegie, and Franklin Clark SAWHILL, son of John SAWHILL of Midway, were united in marriage at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, 1944, in the home of the bride's brother in Carnegie by the Rev. C. E. CHAPMAN, pastor of the Midway Methodist church.

The bride wore an aqua suit with white accessories and a corsage of gardenias. The bridesmaid, Miss Betty Lou WHALEY, sister of the bride, wore a purple suit with white accessories and a corsage of gardenias. Jack WHALEY of Carnegie, brother of the bride, served as bestman. The bridegroom's stepmother, Mrs. Martha SAWHILL of Midway, and his grandmother, Mrs. Esther SAWHILL of Midway, wore corsages of yellow roses.

Following the ceremony, a reception for fifty guests was held in the home of the bride's brother. Present from Midway were Mr. and Mrs. Thomas COLE and daughter Esther, Mr. and Mrs. Robert SAWHILL and daughter Jane, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Harley, Miss Betty SAWHILL, Mr. and Mrs. Emile JORDAN, and Mr. and Mrs. John SAWHILL, daughters Mary Lou and Dorothy, and sons Jimmy and Billy.

The young couple left for a honeymoon trip to Buffalo and Niagara Falls, N.Y., and after May 30 will reside at 104 Seventh avenue, Carnegie.

Mrs. SAWHILL is a 1943 graduate of Carnegie high school. Mr. SAWHILL, a 1941 graduate of Midway high school, is a fireman for the Pennsylvania Railroad Co.

Miss Grace RUDY, daughter of W. A. RUDY, and John SAWHILL, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank SAWHILL, were quietly married Monday morning, at 8:45 oclock [sic] at the home of the bride's sister, Mrs. Emil JORDAN, by the Rev. E. V. SHOTWELL, in the presence of only the immediate families.  The young couple left on the nine o'clock train for Conneaut, where they will spend their honeymoon.

SAWHILL - WINDSHEIMER

A very pretty wedding took place in the home of Mr. and Mrs. George WINDSHEIMER of Burgettstown on March 16, 1934, when their daughter Miss Elizabeth became the bride of Thomas SAWHILL of Midway. The Rev. E. L. RALSTON of the Center United Presbyterian church, Midway, performed the ceremony. The bridal party took its place in a beatuifully [sic] decorated room to the strains of the wedding march played by Miss Wilda SAWHILL, sister of the bridegroom. The bride wore a gown of blue silk crepe and sheer white lace and carried roses and ferns. The bridesmaid, Miss Anna WINDSHEIMER, a sister of the bride, was dressed in blue silk and carried pink roses and ferns. The best man was John W. SAWHILL of Midway. The wedding ceremony was performed in the presence of the immediate families. After the ceremony a wedding dinner was served. After the dinner Mr. and Mrs. SAWHILL left for a short trip to buffalo, N.Y.
