LANNING - RUMBAUGH

Miss Ruth Annetta LANNING, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George LANNING of R. D. 2, McDonald, and Mr. Guy Albert RUMBAUGH of Barr street, were quietly married at six-thirty o'clock Wednesday evening, May 9, 1923, in the parsonage of the Robinson's Run United Presbyterian church. The Rev. Richard B. JOHNSON, the pastor,
officiated. Miss Geneva LANNING was her sister's bridesmaid. Edgar RUMBAUGH served as his brother's best man. The bride wore a gown of blue with a hat to match. The bridesmaid wore a gown of black with a hat to match. Mr. and Mrs. RUMBAUGH will reside in McDonald, where Mr. RUMBAUGH is employed by the South Penn Oil Co.

RUMBAUGH - SICKLES
Miss Ruth SICKLES, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. W. SICKLES of R. D. 1, Canonsburg, and Merle L.
RUMBAUGH, son of Mr. and Mrs. Guy RUMBAUGH of R. D. 4, McDonald, were united in marriage at 7:30 p.m. Friday, November 21, in the
First Baptist church, Canonsburg. The pastor, the Rev. John E. FOSNIGHT performed
the double ring ceremony by candlelight. As the guests assembled, wedding aires
[sic] including "O Promise Me" and "I Love You Truly" were played by the church pianist, Miss Vera Leone
NEISH.
The bride wore a white sheer marquisette gown with sweetheart neckline, long sleeves
pointed over the wrists, fitted bodice, and bouffant skirt ending in a full court
train. Her fingertip veil cascaded from a crown of pearlized [sic] orange blossoms.
She carried an arm bouquet of red roses. Her only jewelry was a double strand of
pearls, a gift of the bridegroom. Wedding traditions were carried out in her attire.
The maid of honor, Miss Vera FULLERTON of Hickory, wore a gown of blue net over satin and carried an arm bouquet of yellow roses. Edgar
RUMBAUGH of Midway, brother of the bridegroom, served as bestman. The bride's mother wore
an aqua crepe dress with black accessories and the bridegroom's mother wore a black and white print dress with black accessories. Each wore a corsage of Talisman
roses. Following the ceremony a reception for 40 guests was held in the home
of the bride's parents. Ten were seated at the bridal table which was centered with a three-tiered wedding cake. Upon their return from a Southern wedding
trip the young couple will reside in Midway.
The bride is a graduate of the Hickory high school and prior to her marriage was
employed by S. A. MEYER Co., Washington. The bridegroom attended Cecil high
school and served three years in the U. S. Air Corps. He spent fourteen months in the European theater, ten of which he was prisoner in a German
prison camp. At present he is employed by the Universal Cyclops Steel
Corp. in Bridgeville.
