Miss Lucille IRONS, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. IRONS, of Ben Avon, and Mr. Alexander H. ROBERTS, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. H. ROBERTS, of East End, Pittsburgh,
were united in marriage Thursday evening, September 1, at 8 o'clock, in the home of the bride's parents. Dr. W. D. IRONS, the bride's uncle, performed the ceremony. 
The Rev. O. H. MILLIGAN, D. D., pastor of the Avalon United Presbyterian church, assisted. After a honeymoon spent in eastern cities, Mr. and Mrs. ROBERTS will go
to housekeeping in Bellevue. Mr. ROBERTS is employed by the Westinghouse company.

Miss Mildred Jeanne STEWART, Sp. X-2-c, U.S.N.R., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William A. STEWART of Burgettstown, became the bride of Dale L. ROBERTS, P.R.1-c. U.S.N., son of Mr. and Mrs. E. T. HIATT of Rome City, Ind., at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 1946, in the chapel of the U. S. Naval Air Station, Ottumwa, Iowa. The double ring ceremony was performed by Lt. Com. Chaplain FAYE before an altar decorated with ferns, palms, gladioli, and garden flowers. 

Before the ceremony, Aviation Cadets INGRAM and SCHOTT sang "Because" and "O Promise Me," accompanied by Marjorie MANBECK, M 2-c, U.S.N.R., pianist. 

The bride, who was given in marriage by Captain T. P. JETERS of the Naval Air station, wore a gown of white rayon over satin fashioned with a sweet-
heart neckline, form-fitting bodice, and full floor-length veil draped from a tiara of orange blossoms. She carried a colonial bouquet of flowers. 

As the matron-of-honor, Dorothy CALDWELL of Reading, chose pink eyelet pique and net for her dress with matching headpiece. She also carried a colonial bouquet. 

Alivin S. WILSON, S 1-c, U.S.N., of Philadelphia served as bestman. 

The bride's mother chose a poudre blue dress with black accessories and the bridegroom's mother was attired in a black dress with white accessories. 

P.R. 1/c ROBERTS has been in the navy for five and a half years with overseas service in Guam, Guadacanal [sic], Panama, Hawaii, and Samoa. 

Following the ceremony, a reception for seventy-five guests was held in the lobby of the Recreation hall, which was beautifully decorated with garden flowers. A three-tiered wedding cake, the table centerpiece, was baked by Commissary Stores Chief Johnston. Waves served at the reception. 

The couple spent a five-day leave in St. Louis, and are now at home at the U.S. Naval Air station, Ottumwa, Iowa. 

Mrs. ROBERTS is a granddaughter of Mrs. Lon STEWART of Miller street and a niece of the John REDICKS of Barr street.

Miss Florence Elizabeth REDICK, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl REDICK of Barr street and Mr. Donald ROBERTS of Burgettstown were united in marriage Thursday afternoon, June 11th at 2 o'clock at the home of the officiating minister, the Rev. W. D. IRONS, D. D. The attendants were Ruth BELLAIRE and the bride's brother, Ralph REDICK. Only the immediate families were presnt [sic=present].  After a wedding trip to Buckeye Lake they will be at home in Burgettstown.
