OATES - OLIVER.
Roy OATES, son of Mr. and Mrs. OATES of Magnolia street, and Miss Agnes OLIVER of Shadyside, Pittsburg, were quietly married at the bride's home, church in Shadyside, Monday, April 9. The bride is a niece of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh ROBERTSON, Fanny streets. Her parents formerly resided in McDonald.

OBLOCK - AYRES
Miss Alice Kathryn AYRES, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry AYRES of Johnston street, McDonald, and Oscar
OBLOCK, son of Mr. and Mrs. Matthew
OBLOCK of Cecil, were united in marriage at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, October 25, 1947, in the McDonald Methodist church. The single ring ceremony was
performed by candlelight by the Rev. C. F. TAME, assisted by the Rev. E. S. BEARD.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a long white satin gown with full court train, lace yoke, and long tight sleeves. Her fingertip veil fell from
a crown of bouquet of white roses and white bouquet of white roses and white pom
poms. For something borrowed she wore her mother's wrist watch
and other traditions were carried out. The matron of honor, Mrs. John
KLIMAS, wore an aqua gown with a headdress of yellow roses. She carried a
bouquet of yellow roses. The bridesmaid, Miss Doris KENDALL of McDonald, wore a pink gown with a headdress of roses. She carried a bouquet of red roses. Harry AYRES, Jr., brother of the bride, served as bestman and Edward
OBLOCK, brother of the bridegroom, and Jack SMITH, were ushers.
Mrs. C. F. TAME played traditional wedding music and accompanied Mrs. Gordon BOGGS who sang "I Love You" and "At Dawning."
The bride's mother wore an aqua metalic [sic=metallic] dress with wine accessories and the bridegroom's mother wore a black dress with matching accessories.
Each ware [sic=wore] a corsage of red roses.
Following the ceremony a reception for 150 guests was held in the Eagles hall, Sturgeon. A
three-tiered wedding cake topped with a miniature bride and groom formed the table centerpiece.
Upon their return from a wedding trip to Erie and Niagara Falls they will reside in Cecil.
The bride attended the McDonald high school and has been employed at Murphy Co., McDonald. The bridegroom is a graduate of Cecil high school and served 34 months with the Marines, part of which was spent in the South Pacific theater. He is employed by his father.
