Thomas NEELAN of Hickory and Miss Lois McMILLEN of Canonsburg went to Wellsburg, W. Va., on day last week and were quietly married, thus surprising their friends. Mr. NEELAN is a nephew of C. C. COATES of Hickory, with whom he made his home and for some time has been an operator in the Wabash station at Hickory.

Miss Mary Elizabeth GARDNER and Frank NEELY, both of Burgettstown, were married Tuesday, February 5, 1935, in the home of the officiating minister, the Rev. Frederick SPIELMAN of Kirby, Greene county. The bride is a school teacher and a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. P. GARDNER of Burgettstown. Mr. NEELY is a gasoline service station owner. Following the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. NEELY left for Florida on a wedding tour.

The marriage of Miss Helen Gladys BROWNLEE, daughter of Mrs. Clara BROWNLEE of Washington, and Wilfred Conkle NEIL, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard J. NEIL of near Hickory, took place November 25, 1934, in the First Presbyterian church in Wheeling, W.Va. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Frederick W. CROTT, Jr., pastor of the church. The attendants were the bridegroom's sister and husband Mr. and Mrs. Raymond THOMAS of Butler. Mr. and Mrs. NEIL will reside near Hickory.

NIELSON - CORFIELD

Miss Grace M. CORFIELD, daughter of the Stephen S. CORFIELDs and Mr. Wallace C. NEILSON, son of the James NEILSONs of Avalon, formerly of Imperial, were united in marriage at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, February 15, 1941, in the Avalon Presbyterian church by the pastor, Dr. Norman HUNTER.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. The bridesmaid was Miss Vera CORFIELD, sister of the bride, and the bestman was Mr. Barton MIEMEYER. Mr. Alfred Burns NEILSON, brother of the  bridegroom, and Mr. Herbert GIBSON were the ushers. Mrs. SIPE presided at the organ.

Following the ceremony a reception was held in the CORFIELD home, after which the couple left for the South. Mr. NEILSON is to go to Tennessee, the Carolinas, Georgia, and Florida for a year as salesman for Time incorporated.

Relatives from Imperial who attended the wedding were Miss Agnes and Miss Lulu NEILSON, Mr. and Mrs. Charles CUNNINGHAM, and Burns LOGAN.

Miss Alice E. LEONARD, of Parkers Landing and Samuel NELLIS, of Pittsburgh, were united in marriage on Wednesday evening, April 13, at 6 o'clock at the parsonage of the Presbyterian church. Rev. B. F. HEANY officiated. They were attended by the bride's brother and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. LEONARD. The young couple will make their home in South Hills.
