MYERS - PEACOCK
Simplicity marked a quiet home wedding solemnized in Hickory, Thursday, July 30, 1936, when Miss Myrtle R. PEACOCK, daughter of the late Millie THOMPSON PEACOCK and David I. PEACOCK, became the bride of the Rev. Clyde L. MYERS, pastor of the Greentree United Presbyterian church, near Pittsburgh.
The beautiful ring ceremony was performed at 10 a.m. by the bride's uncle, the Rev. Dr. Luther Knox PEACOCK of Fall River, Mass., in the presence of the immediate families and a few invited guests. Garden flowers were used in the living room of the SWARTZ home where the nuptial ceremony was solemnized.
The bride wore a dress of navy blue lace with hat and matching accessories and her flowers were a shoulder corsage of white roses and lilies of the valley. The couple had no attendants.
Immediately after the ceremony the couple left by motor on a wedding trip to Ohio, New York, and Canada and after August 22 will be at home to their friends at Greentree.
Both the Reverend Mr. MYERS and his bride were graduated from the Westminster college. For several years the bride has been a teacher in the Hickory vocational high school and the Miami, Fla., high school, holding the latter position for the past school term.
Following his graduation from Westminster, the Reverend Mr. MYERS entered the Pittsburgh-Xenia Theological seminary from which institution he was graduated in 1932. During his college career he was student pastor at the Mt. Pleasant United Presbyterian church, Hickory, accepting a call upon his graduation and served the pastorate about five years. Early this summer he accepted a call to the Greentree congregation, where he has already assumed his duties.
Prior to her marriage the bride was honor guest at a number of courtesy functions when she was presented with beautiful and useful gifts.
