MUCHA - SMORAG

Miss Susan Theresa SMORAG, daughter of Mrs. Sophia SMORAG of Short street, McDonald, and Henry Leonard MUCHA, son of Mr. and Mrs. John MUCHA of Center avenue, McDonald, were united in marriage at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 1947, in St. Alphonsus' church. The Rev. Fr. J. A. BURGOON chanted the nuptial high mass and performed the double ring ceremony before an altar decorated with flowers and ferns.

The bride, given in marriage by her brother, Stanley SMORAG, was attired in a white satin gown with long sleeves and sweetheart neckline and full train. Her fingertip veil was held in place by a crown of orange blossoms and she carried an arm bouquet of calla lilies. The matron of honor, Mrs. Jennie MUCHA, sister of the bride, wore a yellow taffeta gown with matching headdress and carried a nosegay of pink roses. The bridesmaid, Miss Betty MUCHA, sister of the bridegroom, wore a blue taffeta gown with matching headdress and carried a nosegay of yellow roses. The junior bridesmaids, Mary Ann and Betty Ann SIRY, wore yellow and blue gowns respectively, each fashioned similar to that of the bridesmaid, and each carried a nosegay of roses. Paul MUCHA, brother of the bridegroom, served as bestman and Joseph SMORAG, brother of the bride, was the usher. The ring bearer was Meade MCKEE, nephew of the bridegroom. Mrs. Paul WILSON played the wedding music and Miss Helen and Miss Margaret COLLINS sang.

Following the ceremony, a reception for 100 guests was held in the McDonald American Legion home.

Upon their return from a two-week wedding trip through Canada, the young couple will reside in McDonald.

Both Mr. and Mrs. MUCHA are graduates of the McDonald high school, and Mr. MUCHA is employed by the Colonial Life Insurance Co. of Pittsburgh.

Miss Mildred WAGNER, granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Romaine GASTON of Cecil, and John MUCHA, son of Mr. and Mrs. John MUCHA of McDonald, were united in marriage Friday, August 4, 1934, by the Rev. Fr. J. A. BURGOON. The bride is a daughter of Mrs. John ROUSSEAU of Avella, formerly of Cecil.

Miss Stella CHESLESKI, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond CHESLESKI of Deloche avenue, McDonald, and Leo MUCHA, son of Mr. and Mrs. John MUCHA of Roak street, McDonald, were united in marriage at nine o'clock Thursday morning, September 30, 1937, in St. Alphonus' church, McDonald, the Rev. Fr. Joseph A. BURGOON officiating. The bride was attired in white satin with lace train veil with orange blossoms. She carried cream colored roses intermingled with babybreath.  Her sister, Miss Frances E. CHESLESKI, the bridesmaid, wore a salmon colored satin gown with aqua accessories. She carried pink roses intermingled with babybreath. Mr. Paul MUCKALE of McDonald was the best man. Miss Margaret MURPHY of McDonald played the wedding music. A reception was held in the home of the bride's parents. There were 50 guests with 15 seated at the bride's table. The young couple will reside in Valley street, McDonald. Mr. MUCHA is assistant weighboss at the Pittsburgh Coal Co. mine.  Among those who attended the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. J. J. DOMBRASKY (sister of the bride) and children of Turtle Creek and Mrs. Michael BURAK and children of Aliquippa.

Marriage Notice for Steve MUDRAK to Bette Moore, 14 Aug 1943 From the McDonald, PA Record-Outlook newspaper of Aug. 20, 1943, page unknown: 

MUDRAK - MOORE

Miss Bette MOORE, daughter of Mrs. John Sawhill of Midway, and Steve MUDRAK, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael MUDRAK of Sharon, were united in marriage at 6:45 o'clock Saturday evening, August 14, 1943, in the Midway Baptist church. The double ring ceremony was performed by Rev. P. W. HORNE.

The bride, given in marriage by her stepfather, John SAWHILL, wore a white taffeta gown with a fingertip veil and orange blossom crown. She carried a bouquet of yellow roses. For her something old and borrowed she wore a string of pearls from Scotland, belonging to Miss Margaret SNEDDON of Midway. The maid of honor, Miss Martha SNEDDON, wore poudre blue with pink accessories and carried pink roses. John MUDRAK, a brother of the bridegroom, served as bestman. Miss Virginia REED of Burgettstown sang "I Love You Truly" and "Because". The
wedding music was played by Mrs. Mel MOORHEAD of McDonald. 

The bride's mother wore a black dress with white accessories and a corsage of pink rosebuds. The bridegroom's mother wore a pink dress and a corsage of rosebuds. 

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the home of the bride's mother. Twenty-four places were laid at the bride's table. The centerpiece was a large wedding cake, adorned with a miniature bride and bridegroom. A color scheme of yellow and white was carried out in flowers and flavors, which were little yellow baskets filled with white mints.

Mrs. MUDRAK is a 1942 graduate of Midway high school. Mr. MUDRAK, a 1936 graduate of Hickory township, Lawrence county, near Sharon, is employed by the Westinghouse Co. The young couple left Saturday evening for a brief wedding
trip and upon their return will reside in Sharon.
