John MORRISON of near Hickory and Cassie B. KELLY, daughter of Mrs. Jennie KELLY, were married at the bride's home Wednesday at 3 o'clock by the Rev. E. V. SHOTWELL, in the presence of the bride's family. The happy couple left on the five train for Washington, D. C. and other points.

MORRISON - WHITLATCH
 

Norval J. MORRISON and Miss Gail WHITLATCH surprised their many friends by their wedding which took place of Libson, Ohio, October 18. They spent a few days with friends and with Mr. MORRISON's parents of this place. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. MORRISON pleasantly entertained a number of friends in their honor on Tuesday evening, November 14 after a rousing serenade.  The evening was spent in games and music. They received some very useful presents. They will make their home in Sebring, O., where the bridegroom has a home already furnished and holds a responsible position.

Norval J. MORRISON and Miss Gail WHITLATCH surprised their many friends by news of their marriage, which took place in Lisbon, Ohio, October 18, 1922. They are spending a few days near McDonald with Mr. MORRISON's parents. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. MORRISON pleasantly entertained a number of friends in their honor on Tuesday evening, November 14th, after a rousing serenade. The evening was spent in games and music. Miss Arline Esther STEWART, daughter of Mrs. Margaret NIMAL STEWART of Center avenue, McDonald, and the late Warren A. STEWART, and Mr. Robert A. MORRISON, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold MORRISON of R.D. 4, McDonald, were united in marriage at 7:50 o'clock Wednesday evening, March 20, 1940, in the parsonage of the Irons Memorial French U. P. church, McDonald, the Rev. A. MAGE, D.D. officiating.

The bride wore a blue suit with matching accessories and a corsage of calla lilies, white snapdragons, and blue bells. The bridesmaid, Miss Margaret DESCUTNER of McDonald, cousin of the bride, wore a dark blue suit with matching accessories and a corsage of blue bells and pink snapdragons. Mr. Odis SCHAEFER of R.D. 4 McDonald, served as bestman.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the bride's home. There were about forty guests. Mr. and Mrs. MORRISON left Thursday for a Southern motor trip and upon their return will reside in McDonald. Mrs. MORRISON is a 1938 graduate of McDonald high school.

MORRISON - PAPE

The Rev. H. M. PAPE, pastor of the Elrama and Monongahela M. E. churches, read the service Saturday, June 22, 1935, at 2:30 o'clock, when his sister, Miss Virginia Lee PAPE of McDonald became the bride of W. Alan MORRISON of Canonsburg. The marriage was solemnized in the McDonald M. E. church before an altar embanked with roses, ferns, lilies, and peonies. The musical program preceding the ceremony was furnished by Francis BOOCKS of Sturgeon, at the piano. Mrs. Glen KENNEDY of McDonald sang "I Love You Truly" and "O Promise Me."

The bride's gown was of white lace, Queen Anne style, and her veil was caught with orange blossoms. Mrs. John MOORE of Thomasville was maid of honor, and her dress was of Nile green crepe dechine trimmed with a yellow sash, with green slippers. The bridal bouquet was of white calla lilies and the maid of honor carried pink rose buds.

Mr. MORRISON was attended by John MOORE of Thomasville. The ushers were J. Fred KENNEWEG of McDonald and the groom's brother, G. D. MORRISON of Canonsburg.

After the ceremony a reception was held in the bride's home, after which Mr. and Mrs. MORRISON left on a motor trip to Niagara and New York. Upon their return they will be at home in Canonsburg. The bride chose a blue and white silk suit with white accessories for traveling.

Mrs. MORRISON is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O. A. PAPE of McDonald and is a graduate of the Pennsylvania Teachers college at Indiana, Pa. She also attended Muskingum college. For the past five years she taught in the Cecil township grade schools. Mr. MORRISON is a son of Mr. and Mrs. W. M. MORRISON of Canonsburg. He is employed by the Canonsburg Steel and Iron Works.

Out-of-town guests at the ceremony were Mr. and Mrs. W. E. GIBSON of New Concord, Ohio, Mrs. Ellen MORROW and Mrs. Myrtle SMITH and daughters Miss Grace, Ellen and Miss Luella of Lancaster, Ohio; Miss Elsie SIMPSON of Noblestown; Frank CHAPPEL of Canonsburg, and Mr. and Mrs. F. PENDEVILLE and son Jack of Bulger.
