WALLACE - MILLER.
[ MILLER is the Groom. ]
A quiet home wedding took place at the home of Cyrus T. WALLACE on R. D. 3, McDonald, on Wednesday, June 13, 1917, when Miss Lillian M. WALLACE became the bride of Mr. S. Edwin MILLER of Hickory. The ceremony was performed by the bride's pastor, the Rev. C. T. LITTELL of Venice. Miss Edna WALLACE, niece of the bride, played the wedding march from
Lohengrin. The bride wore a gown of white crepe de chine and carried sweetheart roses showered with lilies of the valley. A four-course wedding dinner was served, the color scheme being pink and white. Only the immediate relatives of the contracting parties were in attendance. Mr. and Mrs. MILLER left for an Eastern trip.

MILLER - SUTHERLAND
One of the pretty weddings of the summer was that Saturday, June 20, 1936,
of Miss Ruth SUTHERLAND, daughter of Mrs. James Chester SUTHERLAND of Claysville, and Thomas Groff MILLER, son of Mrs. Thomas Jefferson MILLER
of McDonald, which took place in the United Presbyterian church of Claysville
with the Rev. A. W. WISHART, pastor of the Second United Presbyterian church, Washington, as officiating clergyman. The altar of the church was banked
with ferns and palms flanked on either side by tall standards of white delphinium. In the back of the church garden flowers were used profusely
in the decoration which formed a background for an informal reception after the service.
Miss Eula McGILL, Claysville, presided at the organ and presented a musical program before the ceremony.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her uncle, Mr. Vernon S. SMITH of Mt. Lebanon, was gowned in white satin fashioned on Princess lines
with a quilted standing collar and a square train. Her veil was of bridal illusion with a coronet of orange blossoms. She carried white
sweetpeas and lilies of the valley in a shower bouquet.
Miss Jean SUTHERLAND, sister of the bride, as maid of honor, wore sweet pea
chiffon trimmed with fuchsia ribbon, with chiffon picture hat shirred with gold thread and trimmed in fuchsia flowers. Her bouquet was pink larkspur
and butterfly roses. The bridemaids were Mrs. Willim E. NOBLE, Jr., Claysville,
Mrs. Frank L. JOHNSON, Annapolis, Md., and Miss Helen F. MILLER, cousin of the
bride [sic], of Washington. Their gowns were of seacrest green chiffon trimmed with forest-green
ribbon with matching chiffon hats trimmed in French forget-me-nots. They carried Johanna Hill roses tied with
silver ribbon.
The bestman was Lofin BROWN of McDonald, and the ushers were John Kerr
McCARTY of McDonald, cousin of the bridegroom, Kenneth C. McALISTER, also a cousin,
and William Gist WYLIE of Washington.
An informal reception was held in the church and a bridal supper was served to the
members of the immediate families at the home of the bride. Covers were laid for 50.
Later in the evening Mr. and Mrs. MILLER left on a motor trip to Canada and
New England States.
The mother of the bride was gowned in peach lace with leghorn hat and wore a corsage of delphinium and roses. Mrs.
MILLER wore flowered chiffon and a leghorn hat edged with lace. Her corsage was delphinium and better-time roses.
The bride is a graduate of East Washington high school and Drexel Institute
of Philadelphia, and is a member of the Alpha Sigma sorority and has been
a teacher of home economics in the Claysville public schools. Mr. MILLER is a graduate of Pennsylvania State college and the University of Pittsburgh law school. His fraternities are Omega Delta Episilon
and Justice of Alumni Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta. He is associated
in the practice of patent law with Clarence P. BYRNES, Pittsburgh.

DOUBLE WEDDING
MILLER-ZABE
A double wedding took place Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock in St. Patricks' Roman Catholic church at Noblestown. Miss Eugenia ZABE and W. J. MILLER being one of the bridal pairs and Miss Marie ZABE and J. D. MILLER the other. Miss Elizabeth MILLER and Miss Anna MILLER were the two maids of honor, and Andrew MILLER and Joseph KLAUS were the best men. A wedding breakfast at the MILLER homestead followed the double wedding. The ceremony was a prettily appointed one. The brides wore stylish gowns of white crepe de chine over white taffetta, made with full trains and trimmed with insertions of lace. They carried white roses. The two maids were in blue silk crepon and carried pink roses.
