A pretty wedding took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas CRAVEN, Thursday evening, October 8, at six o?clock, when their daughter Edna was united in marriage to Mr. Carl
McQUISTON, Rev. W. D. IRONS, D.D., officiating. A sumptuous wedding dinner was served in which the hostess was assisted by. Mrs. Samuel AYRES and Mrs. H. D.
AMON. The guest list included Dr. and Mrs. W. D. IRONS, Mr. and Mrs. H. D.
AMON, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph McQUISTON, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel AYRES of McDonald, Mr. and Mrs. James A. COLE of Oakdale, Mr. and Mrs. James FAIRLEY and Master Herbert HOLAND of Midway. The bridal couple left Friday morning for a brief stay at Oil City and Butler. The groom is an employee of the South Penn Oil Company. He is a brother of Mrs. H. D. AMON and Miss Mina McQUISTON of McDonald.

McVAY - BLASINGAME
Mr. and Mrs. K. G. NOBLE and daugther [sic] Betty and Miss Martha LINTON of Steubenville Pike, Mrs. S. C. SCOTT of Carnegie, and Miss
Marianne McVAY of Lyons, N. Y., attended the wedding recently of Miss Mary Alice BLASINGAME of Sarasota, Fla., and Harry W.
McVAY, formerly of Steubenville pike, in the First Christian church, Sarasota, Fla.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white satin gown. Her fingertip veil of illusion was caught with a coronet of orange blossoms.
Miss Elise ABERNATHY, the bride's maid of honor, wore a pink lavender net gown. Miss Marianne
McVAY, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Joyce PETTY, cousin of the bride, were bridesmaids, and wore gowns designed like that of Miss ABERNATHY. Kenneth NOBLE, uncle
of the bridegroom, served as bestman.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the bride's home. A four-tiered wedding cake topped with a large white rose and encircled
with ferns and pink roses was flanked with four lighted tapers in crystal holders.
Mr. and Mrs. McVAY left for a short wedding trip to Northern, Fla., after which they will make their home in Lyons, N.Y., until they return to college
in the fall.
Harry McVAY entered the Army Air corps three years go [sic=ago]. He recently returned from a year's service in the South Pacific area.

McVICKER - McELHANY
The marriage of Miss Mary Elizabeth McELHANY, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John S.
McELHANY, Fannie street, McDonald, to Corporal John McVICKER, stationed at Camp
Butner, N.C., son of Mrs. Charles McVICKER of Sturgeon, took place at 2:30 Saturday afternoon,
February 6, 1943, in the Presbyterian church, Winchester, Va. The single ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. W. A. Wilkerson.
The bride wore poudre blue with dubonnet accessories and a corsage of American beauty roses.
Mrs. McVICKER is a graduate of McDonald high school and at present is the
secretary to the supervising principal of McDonald schools.
