Miss Bessie Wible, daughter of James Wible, the Oakdale undertaker, and Henry McFarland, of Taylorstown, this county, were last week married at Jamestown, N.Y. Miss Wible had gone to Slippery Rock Normal School and the groom went their immediately after and the couple went to Jamestown. It is said there was no objection to the marriage excepting the youth of both bride and groom. They returned to Oakdale and were heartily welcomed by all their friends and given a reception at the house of the bride?s parents.

McFARLAND - McDONALD

Mr. and Mrs. J. Nesbit McDONALD have announced the marriage of their daughter Anne, to Lieutenant Thomas Ivor McFARLAND, U.S.N.R., son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas H. McFARLAND of Carnegie, Pennsylvania. The wedding ceremony, which was performed by the Rev. Joseph Hopkins of the Mt. Pleasant United Presbyterian church of Hickory, Pa., took place in the home of the bride's parents on Monday evening, June 5, 1944. There were no attendants and only the immediate families were present. Lieutenant and Mrs. McFARLAND have left for Detroit, where they will be located at the Naval Air station at Grosse Ile, Mich.
