McCARTNEY - HORMEL
Miss Ellena HORMEL, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis HORMEL of R. D. 1, Oakdale, and Harry
McCARTNEY, son of Mr. and Mrs. James McCARTNEY of Federal, were united in marriage at a candlelight service at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 21, 1946, in the Methodist church, Federal.
The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. John T. RICHARDSON, pastor of the church, with the Rev. A. M. LAING, uncle of the
bride, assisting. Mrs. Peter HORMEL, aunt of the bride, played the wedding march. Miss Mildred HONE sang "Because" and "Always."
The bride was attired in a white satin gown and fingertip veil which were made by Mrs. Hubert GUENTHER of Mt. Oliver, Pittsburgh, an aunt
of the bride. She carried an arm bouquet of lilies. The matron of honor, Mrs. Edward KRAMER, aunt of the bridegroom, wore a peach net
gown with matching veil and carried red roses. The bridesmaids were Miss Ione HORMEL, sister of the bride, and Miss Grace
McCARTNEY, sister of the bridegroom. Each wore an aqua net gown with matching veils and carried cream colored roses. Linda Lee LOVE, niece of the
bride, was flower girl and wore a yellow net gown and carried a basket of mixed flowers. Edward KRAMER, uncle of the bridegroom, was
bestman and Charles LOVE, brother-in-law of the bride, and George SNEARY, cousin of the bridegroom, served as ushers.
Following the ceremony, a reception for 110 guest was held in the home of the bride's parents. After a honeymoon tour through the surrounding
States, the young couple will make their home with the bride's parents.
Mrs. McCARTNEY, a 1942 graduate of Oakdale high school, is employed in the offices of the Superior Steel Corporation in
Carnegie. Mr. McCARTNEY is employed at the Universal Cyclops Co., Bridgeville.
