MARSHALL - ROSENBERGER
In her home, decorated with early autumn flowers, Miss Sara Elizabeth
ROSENBERGER, only daughter of Mrs. Frances M. ROSENBERGER of Rochester,
and the late Walter E. ROSENBERGER became the bride of Mr. William Clark MARSHALL, II, son of Mrs. Bess M. MARSHALL, Oakdale, and the late
C. Fremont MARSHALL at a quiet, yet beautiful morning wedding on Saturday,
September 23, 1939.
Only members of the two immediate families were assembled for the ceremony,
which was performed in the livingroom of the home by the Rev. A. E.
DRIGGERS,
pastor of the Rochester Presbyterian church. The single ring ceremony was
used.
Immediately preceding the nuptial service, Walter E. ROSENBERGER, Jr., brother
of the bride, played "I Love You Truly," "Oh, Promise Me," and "Always" on
the Marimba and softly as the marriage vows were taken, Miss Jeanne DENISON
of Rochester, a close friend of the bride, played "Liebstraum."
The bride was given in marriage by her brother, and her only attendant was
Miss Martha EDWARDS of Rochester, another close friend. The bridegroom was
attended by Mr. Kenneth Jones of Pittsburgh, an intimate friend.
The bride's costume suit of sheer gray wool was fashioned with a top of gray
kidskin fur and her small gray hat was trimmed with coque feathers. Her
other accessories were carried out in brown and her corsage was of orchids and
lilies-of-the- valley. She chose the same outfit for traveling.
Miss EDWARDS's dress was of blue wool and her accessories, too, were brown. Her corsage was of bronze baby "mums". Mrs. ROSENBERGER wore a gown of sheer wool
in black, with black and white accessories, and a corsage of lilies-of-the-valley.
Mrs. MARSHALL's wool costume suit was in plum shade and her accessories were black. Her corsage was of talisman roses.
The bridal breakfast was served at the SPENCER house, Ohio View, and with places
arranged for sixteen. A wedding cake, flanked with autumn flowers, centered
the table.
The newlyweds left after the breakfast for the New England States, via New York,
and planned to spend some time at Lake George. After October 6, Mr. MARSHALL
and his bride will be at home in the Leman apartments, Library hill, Carnegie.
Mrs. MARSHALL is a 1934 graduate of the Rochester high school and of Wooster college,
Wooster, Ohio, class of 1938. Until recently, she was employed by the Quarrie Publishing Co. of Chicago. Mr. MARSHALL is a 1933 graduate of Oakdale high school
and the Art Institute of Pittsburg [sic] He also attended the University of Pittsburgh, taking a course in retail business, and the Carnegie Institute of Technology art school. He is a junior interior decorator for the Horne Co., Pittsburgh.
