MAJOR - FONDER-SMITH

The marriage of Miss Mary FONDER-SMITH of Bulger, to Mr. Samuel D. MAJOR, of Midway, took place on Thanksgiving [Nov. 30, 1893] at the residence of the bride?s parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. S. FONDER-SMITH, Rev. G. M. KERR, of Candor, officiating. Many guests were present. The happy couple are now in the east, and on their return they will live on Center avenue, Midway. Many presents were made to the bride among which were: From the groom, gold watch and chain; bride?s parents, two gold eagles; David MAJOR, Family Bible and parlor clock; and twenty to thirty other valuable presents.

Miss Anne MEDVED of Imperial and Philip MAJORS of the Eastend, Pittsburgh, were united in marriage at 9:00 o?clock Tuesday morning, June 7, 1938, in St. Columbkille?s church, Imperial, the Rev. Fr. S.C. KUPIEC officiating. The bride wore a long white satin gown with buttons down the back and a large white veil in coronation style. Miss Margaret and Miss Angeline MEDVED, sisters of the bride, were the bridesmaids. The young couple will reside in Pittsburgh.

[ MALARKY - DRENNAN ]

The home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter DRENNAN in Clarksburg, W. Va., was the scene of a very pretty wedding Tuesday evening, February 20, at 6 o'clock, when their daughter Marcella Mae [DRENNAN] became the bride of James Robiason MALARKY of this place.  The house was beautifully decorated in palms and ferns and the colors were pink and white. The bride was dressed in a very pretty gown of white marquisette voile and messaline and wore a large white beaver hat trimmed in white plumes. She carried a bouquet of bride's roses. The groom wore the conventional black suit. The bridesmaid, Miss Josephine TWYMAN, was dressed in pink silk mull and carried pink and white carnations.  Jack DRENNAN, a brother of the bride, acted as best man. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Father KEATING and was witnessed by a large concourse of friends. The wedding march was played by Miss Mae LYONS. After the ceremony supper was served in the dining room from 6 until 8:30.  Mr. and Mrs. MALARKY left on Wednesday afternoon amid a shower of rice and old shoes, and arrived in McDonald on Friday evening. They will make their home here.
