[ LEWIS - WILD ]
An interesting feature in connection with the marriage of Miss Katherine WILD and Mr.
Thomas F. LEWIS at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. Mary WILD, at 8 o'clock, Wednesday
evening, was the fact that the ceremony was heard by all the telephone operators between
McDonald and Pittsburg [sic] and Pittsburg [sic] and Steubenville, O.
Before her marriage, Miss WILD was employed as a telephone operator and had many friends in
the Bell Telephone company employ. E. E. LEONARD, wire chief at the local station, installed
a dictagraph [sic] in the WILD home. The dictagraph was connected with the telephone lines, thus
allowing the friends of Miss WILD to enjoy practically all the delights of the affair with the
possible exception of partaking of the wedding feast and kissing the bride.
The ring ceremony was performed by Dr. W. D. IRONS. The bride was attended by Miss Ida
LEWIS, a sister of the bridegroom. Guy WILD, brother of the bride served as best man. The
families of the young people were in attendance. After a western wedding tour, Mr. and Mrs.
LEWIS will reside at McDonald.
