Miss Jean BERTON, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Antonio BERTON of Bridgeville and William LATSHAW, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph LATSHAW of Federal, were united in marriage on Saturday, October 11, at Cumberland, Md. Rev. Mr. MICHAEL of the Methodist church performed the ceremony. 

The bride wore a black crepe dress with white accessories and a corsage of white gardenias. Her attendant, Miss Mary SCACH of Pittsburgh, wore a blue crepe dress with black accessories and a corsage of pink roses. Anthony CRILLO of Cecil served as bestman.

Upon their return to the home of the bridegroom's parents they were greeted by about 25 friends and relatives and found a supper table prepared for the bridal party and grandmother of the bridegroom. 

A reception and square dance was held in the evening at the Dutch club in Federal where 150 guests were present. 

The couple will reside for the present with the bridegroom's parents.

IRONS, pastor of the First Presbyterian church of McDonald. The ceremony took place in the IRONS home. The young couple were attended by the bridegroom's brother and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. William J. LAWSON, also of Burgettstown. They will make their home in Burgettstown [Pa].

Miss Ruth Lee KIPP, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. 
F. W. KIPP of Avon Park, Florida, and George William LAYCOCK, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. E. LAYCOCK of Cocoa, Florida, were married Sunday morning, May 15, 1938, on the grounds of the Mountain Lake sanctuary, Lake Wales [Florida]. Dr. Benjamin OTTO of Penny Farms officiated.

The wedding party, men and women, were almost without exception attired in white, the thermometer registering 72 degrees. 

The ceremony was performed before a natural altar, a short distance from Bok tower.

A wedding breakfast was held at the Walesbilt hotel immediately after the ceremony. The couple will live at Cocoa.

Mrs. LAYCOCK, a resident of Florida for four years, formerly lived in third street, McDonald, PA., and later in Newark, Ohio. She attended the McDonald schools until 1934, when she moved to Newark, Ohio, graduating from the high school there that spring. She is also a graduate of the Western Union School of Bloomfield, N.J., and has been employed in various offices of that company in Florida.

Mr. LAYCOCK is a graduate of Denison university, Grandville, Ohio, and is a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. Berfore moving to Cocoa, where he is now manager of the Brevard hotel, he was a resident of Chicago.

"Originally named the "Dixie Walesbilt," the building now known as the Grand Hotel, a ten-story "skyscraper," stands as enduring testimony to the spirited optimism of the Great Florida Boom Period. 
One of a small remaining number of historic skyscrapers constructed in Florida during the 1920s, the hotel, which originally cost $500,00, was financed through the local sale of stock in the enterprise.
