On Wednesday evening, July 17th at 9:30 o'clock Mrs. Mary HYSER PURDY of McDonald and Mr. John KRESS of Primrose were united in marriage by the Rev. Mr. B. F.
HEANY. The ring ceremony was performed in the Presbyterian manse.

KRESS - KRESS
Miss Tillie KRESS of McDonald and Mr. John KRESS of Canonsburg were united in marriage at the home of the officiating minister, the Rev. J.H. TARNEDDE, pastor of the McDonald Lutheran church, on Tuesday morning, March 7, 1922, at 10:30 o'clock. They were unattended. The bride is a daughter of Mr. John KRESS of Valley street and until her marriage was a saleslady in F.S. CHAMBON's store. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. John KRESS, who live on a farm near Canonsburg. The young couple have taken up their residence with the bride's mother.

KRESS - LAIRD
Miss Margaret June LAIRD, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. LAIRD of Joplin, Mo., and John William KRESS of Fannie street, McDonald, were united in marriage at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, Mary 29, 1947, in the Villa Heights Methodist church, Joplin, Mo. The pastor, Rev. Lon PRESLEY, performed the single ring ceremony before an altar decorated with ferns and roses.
The bride was attired in a traditional white satin gown. Her fingertip veil fell from a crown of seed pearls and she carried white gardenias on a white Bible. The bridesmaids were Miss Clara LAIRD, sister of the bride, who wore an aqua gown with matching accessories and carried a nosegay of old fashioned flowers and Mrs. Thomas McCLINTOCK, another sister of the bride, who wore a pink gown with matching headdress and carried a nosegay of mixed flowers. Virgil JONES of Joplin served as bestman and James JONES and Wayne OVERALL were ushers. Mrs. Naomi VANDEVER, the church organist, played the wedding music throughout the ceremony.
Following the ceremony, a reception for thirty guests was held in the home of the bride's parents. After spending a three-day wedding trip in St. Louis, Mo., the young couple came to Pittsburgh by plane. Upon completion of a visit with Mr. KRESS's
parents, they plan to reside in Pittsburgh.
The bride, a graduate of the Joplin high school and Junior college, was employed prior to her marriage by Attorney Stanley CLAY in Joplin. The bridegroom, a graduate of the McDonald high school, is attending the Carnegie Institute of Technology. He served four years with the Signal Corps, part of which was spent in Okinawa and Korea.
