Mr. Calvin KING and Miss Ellen SCOTT were married at the bride?s home at Scott?s station at 4 o?clock on Thursday evening, May 11th. The guest list was limited to the immediate friends of the contracting parties. After their wedding trip Mr. and Mrs. KING will probably begin housekeeping at Coraopolis where he is employed in the office of an oil refinery.

Miss Ida MARSHALL and Miss Emma McCLARN were guests on last Saturday afternoon at a miscellaneous shower given Miss Ellen SCOTT and Mr. Calvin King at the home of Miss SCOTT at SCOTT?s station, three miles below Imperial. Mr. KING resides near Carnot. Over 100 invitations were issued for the affair. Luncheon was served at 4 p. m. and many pretty and useful gifts were received by the young people who were united in marriage on Thursday of this week at the home of the bride. The affair is reported having been one of the most pleasant of the season in that vicinity.

Miss Mary H. ATEN of Coraopolis and Hillard F. KING of Beaver Falls were united in marriage on June 20th at 2 p. m. The bride's brother, the Rev. Sidney ATEN of South Dakota, officiated. About twenty guests were present. Mr. and Mrs. KING left for a Northern trip, and after July 22d will be at home at Beaver Falls.

Miss Mary Elizabeth OLIVER, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William J. OLIVER of North McDonald street, and James Byron KING of Bavington were united in marriage on Wednesday evening, August 12, at 8:30 o'clock at the home of the bride's sister, Mrs. Carl G. BICKEL, by the Rev. W. D. IRONS, D. D. The young couple will go to housekeeping on the groom's farm in Robinson township.

KING - DAVIS

Miss Margaret June DAVIS, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James DAVIS of Cecil, and Cpl. James KING, stationed at A. P. Hill Military Reservation, VA., son of Mr. and Mrs. George KING of Houston, were united in marriage at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, 1943, in the Union Gospel Mission church, Cecil. The pastor, the Rev Walter L. STEWART, performed the ceremony before an archway adorned white flowers. At the entrance of the arch hung the traditional white wedding bell, which has been used in the church for over thirty years.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white net with embroidered-net bodice and chalet-type veil. She carried a shower bouquet of white roses and wore a pearl necklace, the gift of the bridegroom. Her pearl bracelet and lace hankie were borrowed and she had a new coin tucked in her shoe. The maid of honor, Miss Naomi DECK of Houston, wore blue organza and carried a bouquet of talisman roses. Floyd CHASTER of Houston served as bestman and Thomas DAVIS of Cecil, brother of the bride. Samuel DAVIS of Bridgeville, cousin of the bride, and Raymond MOYER of Cecil were the ushers.

Preceding the ceremony, Mrs. Bess BEAUMARIAGE of Cecil played the wedding music and Miss Flora GOSSETT sang "I Love You Truly" and "O Promise Me."

Following the ceremony, a reception was held for the immediate families in the DAVIS home. There were fifty present.

Mrs. KING is a graduate of Cecil high school and is employed at the Fort Pitt bridge works, Canonsburg. She will reside with her parents for the duration.

Prior to his induction into the service in October of 1942, Corporal KING was employed by the Carnegie-Illinois Steel Co., Canonsburg.
