At the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. MARSHALL of Oakdale on Thursday afternoon, May 31, 1917, occurred the marriage of their daughter, Katharyne Elizabeth, to Charles R. KENNAN, also of Oakdale. The ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. George A. FRANTZ of the First Presbyterian Church of Oakdale. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Hazel MARSHALL and Edward BISSONETTE of Burlington, Vt., served as best man. The little niece of the bride, Florence DeLena MARSHALL, carried a basket of pink rosebuds and lilies of the valley. The bridal party entered the room to the strains of the Lohengrin wedding march played by Miss Myrtle CUMMINGS of Cadiz, Ohio. The color scheme of pink and white was carried out. The bride wore a beautiful gown of white tulle and lace and carried a bouquet of white roses and lilies of the valley. The bridesmaid carried pink roses. Immediately after the ceremony covers were laid for forty. Later Mr. and Mrs. KENNAN left for a trip through the Western States.

Information like this makes me wonder what happened to that gold breastpin? Is it still in the family? Was it sold at some auction? Did anyone know it was important to 2 women in history?

Before an embankment of ferns and palms arranged in the Noblestown U. P. church, was solemnized the marriage of Miss Violet Elizabeth ROY, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James ROY of Noblestown, and Frank William KEENAN, son of Mrs. Amelia KEENAN, of Oakdale, on Wednesday evening, June 30, 1926, at 7:45 o'clock. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. W. V. GROVE, pastor of 
the Noblestown U. P. church. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was gowned in white georgette trimmed with white silk roses. Her headpiece was of pearls caught at the sides with white rosebuds. She carried a shower bouquet of white bride's roses and lilies of the valley. Her only adornment was a large gold breastpin worn by a bride 84 years ago.  Miss Rose McCARTY, as maid of honor, 
wore shell pink georgette and carried pink rosebuds. Mrs. Gaynelle MURPHY, one of the bridesmaids, wore a gown of flowered georgette trimmed in lace and carried sweet peas and delphineum. Miss Mary CUMMINGS, the other bridesmaid, wore blue georgette and carried sweet peas and delphineum. The flower girl was Nora JOHNSTON of Elm Grove, W.Va. She wore pale pink voile ruffled with lace.
George LAVIE, the ring bearer, wore black satin trousers and white satin ruffled waist. He carried the ring on a white calla lily. Mrs. Olive MOORE, cousin of the bride, played Mendelsohn's Bridal March. Before the ceremony Mrs. Grace FEICK of Brookline sang "At Dawning." George KEENAN of Oakdale was his brother's best man. The ushers included Charles KEENAN, brother of the bridegroom, and Leon DUERAY, brother-in-law of the bride. A reception at the home of the bride's
parents supplemented the ceremony. Mr. and Mr. KEENAN left about eleven o'clock Wednesday evening for a motor trip to Washington, D. C., Philadelphia, and Atlantic City. Upon their return, they will reside with the bride's parents.

Miss Betty COTTS, daughter of Mrs. Emily COTTS of Hastings avenue, Oakdale, and Ralph Marshall KEENAN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. KEENAN of Vincennes avenue, Oakdale, were united in marriage at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 1947, in the Oakdale Presbyterian church.  The pastor, the Rev. H. Carlyle CARSON performed the double ring ceremony before an altar decorated with ferns and lighted candelabra. 

The bride, given in marriage by her brother, James W. COTTS, wore a cream colored ensemble with brown accessories and she carried a colonial bouquet of yellow roses. The bridesmaid, Miss Shirley MORGAN of Oakdale was dressed in a gray ensemble and carried a colonial bouquet of pink roses. C. Robert KEENAN, brother of the bridegroom, served as bestman. 

During the ceremony, Dickson YOURD, the church organist, played "Because," "I Love You Truly," "O Promise Me," "Strains from Mendelssohn" and "Lohengrin's Wedding March."

The bride is a graduate of the Oakdale high school and has been employed by the Westinghouse Electric Co., Pittsburgh. The bridegroom, 
a graduate of Bucknell university and a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity was a navy lieutenant (jg) in World War II. He is employed in the General offices of the Aluminum Co. of America in Pittsburgh. 

After a honeymoon by plane to Williamsburg and other points of interest in Virginia, Mr. and Mrs. KEENAN will be at home in Wilkinsburg.

Miss Maurine JENKINS, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William JENKINS of R.D. 3, McDonald [Pa], and Mr. Ralph KEENEY, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph KEENEY, also of R.D. 3, McDonald [Pa] were united in marriage at 7 o'clock Saturday evening, November 6, 1937, in the Christian church, Hagerstown, MD. The bride was attired in blue crepe, Mr. and Mrs. Claude COLE of the McDonald-Venice road [sic] were the attendants. A wedding supper was served in the KENNEY home. The bride attended Cecil high school [sic] and the bridegroom attended Washington high [sic]. They are residing with Mr. KENNEY'S parents.

Miss Mary Jaqueline TREACY, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.P. PROCTOR, and Mr. William E. KEGEL, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. BOND, were united in marriage at two o'clock Saturday afternoon, February 17, 1940, in the rectory of St. Phillips' church [sic], Crafton [Pa], by the Reve Fr. KELTY.

Miss Jane BOYNES, a student at Slippery Rock college [sic], was the maid of honor and Mr. Leo G. VONFELD, an uncle of the bride, served as bestman.

A reception was held in the PROCTOR home. After a brief honeymoon, the young couple will reside with the bride's parents.

Out-of-town guests at the reception were Mr. and Mrs. J. M. VONFELD of Renton [Pa], Frank ARNAUD of New York City, Mrs. Margaret TREACY of Washington D. C. and Senator B. B. MCGINNESS.

On Wednesday, April 15, 1908, at 6 o'clock, Mr. George H. KELLEY and Miss Daisy M. JONES, both of Oil City, Pa., were quietly married at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George McFARLANE in Midway, Pa., The ceremony was performed by Rev. T. B. MARTIN, pastor of the Baptist Church, in the presence of a few invited guests.  After the ceremony a fine lunch was served by the host and hostess in honor of the occasion. The guests departed wishing Mr. and Mrs. KELLEY a long, happy and a prosperous journey on the way through life. They will make their home in Oil City [Pa].
