At seven-thirty o'clock Tuesday evening, in the assembly rooms in the Bank and Trust building in Mt. Pleasant Westmoreland county, Miss Mary Bertha BARRON, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Meyer BARRON of Quarry street, Mt. Pleasant, and Frank I. HIRSH, son of Mr. and Mrs. Abraham HIRSH of Pittsburgh, were married. The Rev. A. L. ASHINSKY of Pittsburgh performed the ceremony. The bride wore a handsome gown of white canton crepe, with a veil and carried a bouquet of bride's roses and lilies of the valley. Miss Anna HIRSH, sister of the bridegroom, was bridesmaid. Lewis BARRON, brother of the bride, was best man. Mr. and Mrs. R. KOPPELMAN of Boston were other members of the wedding party. Following the nuptial service, a reception was held at the bank hall with members of the bridal party, and the parents of the couple in the receiving line. Mr. and Mrs. HIRSH left later on an Eastern trip. After August 1st they will be at home to their friends in McDonald, where Mr. HIRSH is in business. Three hundred guests were present from nearby and distant places.

*I found no flowering plant or tree called tobago, except a patent filed in 1992 for a type of Impatiens flower (so that's not it).  There is an Island of Tobago said to have exotic flowers.

Miss Harriet A. MALONE of Burgettstown and Mr. Roy A. HITE of Midway were united in marriage on Thursday evening at 7:30 o'clock in the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. William MALONE of Burgettstown, Rev. J. S. HITE, father of the groom, officiated. The ceremony was performed before an embankment of rambler roses and tobago [sic] blossoms. The bride, who was unattended, wore a gown of orchid crepe-de-chine trimmed with beads. The wedding march was played by Miss Dorothy MILLER. A wedding supper followed the ceremony.  Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. William MALONE, parents of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. J. S. HITE of Midway, parents of the groom, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert MALONE and Mrs. Etta PURDY and daughter Frances of Langeloth, Mr. and Mrs. Jack FINNEY and daughter Betty, Miss Thelma MALONE, Miss Dorothy MILLER, Miss Grace PYLES, Miss Erma MALONE, Miss Caroline RIELY, Miss Flora NICKOLS, Miss Norma MALONE and Harold MALONE, all of Burgettstown, and the Misses Gertrude and Catherine MALONE of Midway, sisters of the groom.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert M. WILSON of R. D. 1, Oakdale, announce the forthcoming marriage on June 11 [1947] at SanAntonio [sic], Fla., of their daughter, Sally [WILSON], lately of the Waves. The bridegroom-to-be is Raymond Rhoades HIXON, son of Mrs. Gerald RHOADES of Detroit, home after six years in the navy. The young couple will reside in Toledo, Ohio.

Mr. and Mrs. Wilson plan to leave June 3 for Florida to attend the wedding ceremony. They expect to remain in Florida about three months.

Miss Sally K. WILSON of San Antonio, Fla. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. WILSON of Oakdale and Raymond R. HIXON, son of Mrs. Gerald MILLEN of Detroit, Mich., were united in marriage Wednesday, June 11, 1947, at the Community Protestant church in San Antonio, by the Rev. Lloyd ROGERS. The bride was given in marriage by her father and was attended by her sister, Miss Ruth B. WILSON of Syracuse, N. Y. Mr. HIXON's uncle Harry RHOADS of Toledo, Ohio, was bestman.

Both bride and groom had received honorable discharges from the United States Navy. Mr. HIXON having served for six years and Mrs. HIXON for four years.

The bride wore a white lace dress fashioned from the wedding dress of her great-aunt. White gloves and a white Juliet cap completed the outfit. The maid of honor wore a pink linen dress embroidered in luggage tan, a large picture hat of natural straw, pink gloves and luggage tan shoes.
The wedding music was presented by Mrs. G. H. WHITMAN at the piano. Miss Hazel RIDGWAY, violinist, and Miss Lucile THACKER, whistler. 

Following the double ring ceremony a reception was held in the home of Mrs. WHITMAN in San Antonio. Out-of-town guests included the bride's father and mother, her sister, the groom's mother, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H. E. RHOADS of Toledo, Ohio and St. Petersburg, and his uncle, Harry RHOADS.

The young couple will make their home in Toledo, Ohio, while Mr. HIXON attends the University of TOLEDO.

Miss Edna HORMEL, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. F. HORMEL of south of Oakdale, and Mr. Frederick G. HODGE of Berkeley, Calif., were quietly united in marriage on Thursday evening, October 7, 1626 [sic], at eight o'clock, 
in the home of Mr. and Mrs. P. A. HORMEL. The wedding ceremony was performed by the Rev. W. R. McMUNN and took place before an embankment of beautiful fall flowers.  A two-course dinner was served after the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. HODGE left by auto for a trip in the East. After their return they will make their home in Oakdale until after the return of Mrs. HODGE's parents, who are spending the winter in India with their two daughters, who are missionaries there. They will make Berkeley, Calif., their permanent home. Mrs. HODGE is a graduate of the Oakdale high school and Mr. HODGE was graduated from the University of California at Berkeley.

Miss Dorothea Julia McKEE, daughter of Mrs. Mary E. McKEE and the late E. Boyles McKEE of the Noblestown road became the bride of Mr. Norman F. HOELZLE, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick J. HOELZLE of Sharon, Pa., on Wednesday morning, August 7th [1929] at nine o?clock in the parsonage of the First United Presbyterian church, Mt. Washington, Pa. The Rev. Albert A. LOVE performed the ceremony. The bride is a graduate of State Teachers? College, Indiana, Pa., class of 1923 and since then has been head of the Commercial Department of the Vandergrift and Sewickley High schools. Mr. HOELZLE is a graduate of Westminster College and a member of the Theta Epsolin Omega Fraternity. After an extended tour of Eastern Canada and the White Mountains Mr. and Mrs. HOELZLE will be at home in Schley avenue, Ingram, Pa.
