Mr. and Mrs. Pascoe COPELAND of R.D. 3, McDonald, announce the marriage of their daughter Mary Emmaline to James HARROWER, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew HARROWER, R.D. 3, McDonald. The ceremony took place Wednesday, August 9, 1939, in the manse of the Venice U. P. church, the pastor, Dr. C. T. LITTELL, officiating.

The bride given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white chiffon over taffeta with a colonial shoulder veil. Her colonial bouquet was of gardenias and lilies of the valley. The bridesmaid, Miss Vivian DuCarme of Curry hill road, Canonsburg, wore white net over rose taffeta with rose accessories. Her colonial bouquet contained pink roses. Mr. Gordon BOAK of Venice served as bestman.

Following the ceremony a luncheon was served by the bride's mother to the family and to Mr. and Mrs. David S. LITTELL. After a short trip to Canada, the couple will reside in R.D. 3, McDonald.

Mr. and Mrs. HARROWER are both graduates of the Cecil high school. Mr. HARROWER is an employee of the Pittsburgh Coal Co.

At the home of the bride's uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. John F. BRENNAN, in Valley street, McDonald, the marriage of Miss Elizabeth A. PASHER and Jabes [sic] M. HARTLAND, both of Donora, was performed by the Rev. Dr. W. D. IRONS of the First United Presbyterian church of McDonald, on Thursday afternoon, October 20, 1921, at two o'clock. Miss Inadelle E. THOMAS of Munhall was bridesmaid and Sylvester J. BRENNAN best man. Mr. and Mrs. HARTLAND will go to housekeeping in Munhall.

HARTLEY - COCHRAN

Georgia Blye COCHRAN, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl SPICER of Canonsburg, and Mr. Carl Wesley HARTLEY, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Earl HARTLEY of North street extension, McDonald, were united in marriage at 9:30 o'clock Saturday morning, September 28, 1940 in the Chartiers Hill Presbyterian church. The double ring ceremony was performed by the church pastor, the Rev. W. R. MCKIM, before an embankment of ferns with standards of gladioli on either side. Before the ceremony, Mrs. Mary WICK DAY of Washington played a medley of wedding music and was accompanist for Mr. Archie SMITH of Canonsburg, who sang "Because" preceding the ceremony and "Oh Promise Me" following the ceremony. Mrs. DAY played "Meditation" during the ceremony and a medley following the recessional when she used Mendelssohn's wedding music. She played the Lohengrin wedding march as the bridal party entered the church.

The bride, given in marriage by her uncle Mr. Frederick SPICER of Canonsburg, wore a white satin gown with train and a long veil caught with a band of orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet of white roses and lilies of the valley. The maid of honor, Miss Naomi STYPERK of Canonsburg, a cousin of the bride, wore a blue gown and carried pale yellow roses. The bridesmaids, Mrs. Albert LACOCK and Mrs. Oral BLUE of Washington, Miss Mary Jane GRAY of Houston, and Mrs. Archie SMITH of Canonsburg, wore pink gowns and carried tea roses. The bride and her attendants wore slippers and tiaras in matching colors to the gowns. Mr. Oral BLUE of Washington, uncle of the bride, served as bestman and the ushers were Mr. Archie SMITH and Mr. Charles FENNER of Canonsburg and Mr. Willard HARTLEY and Mr. Dale HARTLEY of McDonald, brothers of the bridegroom. Ronald COCHRAN was the ringbearer and carried the rings on a white satin pillow. The bride's mother wore a black crepe gown with a corsage of tea roses and the bridegrooms' mother wore black crepe with a corsage of tea roses.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church diningroom. Places were laid for 75 guests with the bridal couple seated at the center table. The bride cut the wedding cake. The tables were centered with low bowls of garden flowers.

The young couple left for a trip to Indiana State and upon their return will reside with the bride's parents. Mr. HARTLEY is employed at the Unversal Steel, Bridgeville.

HARTSICK - GILBERT

Miss Mary Alice GILBERT, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph GILBERT of Midway, and George HARTSICK, son of Mrs. Josephine HARTSICK of McDonald, were united in marriage at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 1946, in the home of the Rev. Fr. J. A. BURGOON, who performed the single ring ceremony.

The bride was attired in a white gown with a satin bodice, sweetheart neckline, and net skirt ending in a long train. Her fingertip veil cascaded from a tiara of orange blossoms fashioned of seed pearls. For something old, she carried a handkerchief which was 89 years, belonging to Mrs. E. H. Montgomery of McDonald. For something new, she wore a bracelet, a gift of the bridegroom. For something borrowed, she wore a strand of pearls belonging to her sister, Mrs. Frank HAINAUT of Primrose, and she wore a blue ribbon in the toe of her shoe. She carried a bouquet of white calla lilies and babies?-breath. The maid of honor, Miss Cecille HARTSICK, sister of the bridegroom, wore a pink net gown with jersey top and matching new headdress. She carried a bouquet of pink larkspur and gladioli. Lawrence GILBERT, brother of the bride, served as bestman. The bride?s mother was attired in a rose and white Swiss crepe dress with matching accessories and a shoulder corsage of red rosebuds. The bridegroom?s mother was attired in navy blue with matching accessories and a corsage of red rosebuds. For her going away outfit, the bride chose a gray tuxedo suit trimmed with nailheads, white accessories and a corsage of red rosebuds.

Following the ceremony, a chicken dinner for the immediate family was served in the home of the bride. A reception for relatives and friends was held in the evening with 25 guests seated at the bride?s table. A three-tiered wedding cake, a gift of Mr. and Mrs. Frank HAINAUT of Primrose, formed the table centerpiece.

The bride is employed in Pittsburgh and the bridegroom in Aliquippa. Following a brief honeymoon, the young couple will reside in Primrose.
