GRONBERG - ROSENCRANS


A pretty wedding was solemnized at three-thirty o'clock Saturday afternoon, January 11, 1941, in the Wallace Memorial United Presbyterian church [sic], Washington, D.C., when Miss Nellie ROSENCRANS, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur ROSENCRANS of Roosevelt avenue [sic], McDonald [Pa], became the bride of Mr. Gordon D. GRONBERG, son of Mrs. Edna GRONBERG of Washington, D.C.

The bride wore a gown of white lace and net and finger-tip veil. She carried a bouquet of white roses and sweet peas. The matron of honor, Mrs. Arthur ERICKSON of Washington, D. C., wore blue transparent velvet and carried a bouquet of talisman roses. Mr. Howard GRONBERG of New York City served as his brother's bestman.

A reception for the immediate families and bridal party was held in the Alton DENSLOW home, Washington, D.C. The young couple left for a wedding trip Florida and upon their return will reside in Washington, D.C.

Miss KELLY is well known here, having formerly resided in East Lincoln avenue. She is a graduate of McDonald high school, class of 1917.

Mr. GROSSHEIM is the boot and shoe man who has for so many years carried on business next door to T. M. Douglass.  Mr. and Mrs. G. [i.e. GROSSHEIM] go to housekeeping in the building where he does business.

GRUBER - SUPLIT

Miss Eleanora SUPLIT, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fernand SUPLIT of Wilkinsburg [Pa], formerly of McDonald [Pa], and Warren GRUBER of New York, were united in marriage on Christmas day, December 25, 1943, in the First United Presbyterian church [sic], Wilkinsburg [Pa]. The Rev. James Best performed the ceremony before a background of poinsettas and ferns.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore traditional white satin and a fingertip veil crowned with orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of white roses framing a red orchid. To carry out the Christmas colors of red and white, her attendants, Mrs. John CRUMMY and Miss Jean WEINKAUT, wore white satin and net dresses with red tulle shoulder-length veils. They each carried a bouquet of red roses. The flowergirl [sic], Suzanne SHERIFF, wore white net with a matching net bonnet. Gene GRUBER served as his brother's bestman and John CRUMMY and Clyde FREDERICKSON were the ushers.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Penn-Lincoln hotel [sic], after which the young couple left for Philadelphia to make their future home.

Mrs. GRUBER is a graduate of Margaret Morrison Carnegie college [sic] and is a member of Alpha Theta Sigma sorority. Her husband graduated from Pratt institute [sic], Brooklyn, N. Y. 

Those from McDonald [Pa] who attended the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Fred SUPLIT and daughter Miss Thelma [SUPLIT], Mr. and Mrs. Herman SUPLIT and daughter Miss Hilde [SUPLIT] Mr. and Mrs. J. Z. MASQUELIER, Mrs. P. J. BROWETT, Mr. and Mrs. George MASQUELIER, Miss Leah SUPLIT, and Cpt. Henry GOFFART.
