The marriage of Miss Mary Whyte YOUNG, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert YOUNG of Fifth street, and J. Austin Gistman, son of Mrs. Lily GISTMAN of Evansville, Ind., was solemnized at 5:30 o'clock Wednesday evening, June 28, 1926, at the home of the bride's parents. The couple entered the room to the strains of the bridal chorus from Lohengrin, played by Mrs. John FARRAR, a sister of the bride. The Rev. B. L. SAY, pastor of the First Presbyterian church of East McKeesport, officiated. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white taffetta.  Her tulle veil was caught with orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of bride's roses showered with lilies of the valley.  A wedding dinner at the home of the bride's parents followed the ceremony.  Covers were laid for twelve at the bride's table. Mr. and Mrs. GISTMAN left the same evening on a Southern trip and upon their return the will be at home in Evansville, Ind.

Marriage Notice for Frank R. GLADDEN to Fern Victoria MEEKER, Feb. 11, 1911 From the McDonald, PA Record newspaper of Feb. 17, 1911:

The following is from the Lafayette, Ind., Courier [bold added]:  The marriage of Miss Fern Victoria MEEKER, the only daughter of Mrs. Charles A. MEEKER, and Frank R. GLADDEN was solemnized Saturday, February 11, at three o'clock at the home of the bride, 708 South street, Lafayette, Ind.  The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. P. HALE and was witnessed by a small company of friends and relatives.  The house was beautifully decorated with American beauty roses, ferns, lilacs and southern smilax.  In the back parlor where the ceremony was performed the mantel was banked with ferns and palms, being lighted with cathedral candles.  The attendants were Miss Lena BECKER of Lafayette as bridesmaid and Hamilton WILSON of Cincinnati as best man.  The bride wore a white gown of broadcloth and a large white hat and carried a shower bouquet of pink and lavender sweet peas.  Miss BECKER wore a lavender chiffon silk gown and large picture hat and carried a huge bunch of violets and pink roses.  Mr. and Mrs. GLADDEN left at 9:20 for the East.  The bride wore a black broadcloth suit and black hat.

Frank R. GLADDEN is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard GLADDEN of Lincoln avenue. He was a former student at Washington & Jefferson College.  Last fall he entered Purdue University.  It was while attending school he met his bride.  The young people are spending their honeymoon here in McDonald.  Mr. GLADDEN has accepted a position in McDonald and they will reside with his parents here.

Miss Kathleen Moran WILSON, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Day WILSON of Seventh avenue,
Clarion [Pa], and Frank R. GLADDEN of McDonald [Pa], were united in marriage at four o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the WILSON residence in Clarion [Pa], with the Reverend W. J. BALDWIN, pastor of the M. E. church there officiating.

As the bridal party entered the drawing room, the "bridal Chorus" from Lohengrin was played
by Mrs. J. C. CLOUGH. Preceding the wedding march, Mrs. W. J. DAVIES sang "At Dawning," 
and during the ceremony the "Venetian Love Song" was played with Mrs. Lois PANTALL accompanying on the violin.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She was gowned in white satin with Venetian lace veil. Her flowers were pink and white roses, showered with lilies-of-the-valley.

The matron of honor, Mrs. Samuel WILSON of Clarion [Pa], wore orchid georgette with slippers and hose to match and carried an arm bouquet of yellow and rose gladioli tied with orchid tulle.

Master Roger G. WILSON, son of Mr. and Mrs. John K. WILSON of Buffalo, N. Y., acted as ring bearer and wore white satin.

H. B. DRAKE of Pittsburgh [Pa], brother-in-law of the groom, was the best man.

The reception and wedding dinner was served to 150 guests after the ceremony.  Covers were placed for twelve guests at the bridal table, which was decorated with lavender and yellow gladioli and smilax. The music during the reception was furnished by Don C. CAMPBELL's orchestra of Clarion, [Pa].

Following the wedding, the bride and groom left for an extended wedding trip to be spent at Cleveland and other places along the Great Lakes.

A pretty wedding took place at 5:30 o?clock on Wednesday evening, September 29, 1926, at the McBETH home in Third street, McDonald, when Miss Mabel Emma McBETH, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. B. McBETH, became the bride of James Donaldson GLADDEN, son of Mr. and Mrs. T. D. GLADDEN of south of McDonald. The Rev. B. F. HEABY, pastor of the First Presbyterian church of McDonald, officiated, the ring ceremony being used. The bride wore a gown of French blue satin and carried pink roses.  Miss Margaret McBETH, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid. She wore a gown of green crepe de chine. George GLADDEN, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. After the ceremony the young couple left by auto for a trip through New York State.  Mrs. GLADDEN is a graduate of the McDonald high school. Mr. GLADDEN attended McDonald high school and the Stauton Military academy in Virginia. They will make their first home for the present with the bridegroom?s parents.

A wedding of much interest to many McDonald people was celebrated Wednesday evening at 7 o'clock at Catharge, Mo., when Edna Elmira, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin J. GLADDEN, of Catharge, Mo., was united in marriage to Mrs. Joseph GLADDEN, of Freedom, Pa., Rev. Dr. SCOTT officiating. The groom is a son of Mrs. J. R. GLADDEN, of West Lincoln avenue, and a prominent businessman of Freedom [Pa]. After a western wedding tour they will be at home to their many friends Dec. 1st at Freedom [Pa].

Miss Beatrice MURPHY, daughter of James L. MURPHY of Fannie street, McDonald, and Mr. Richard GLADDEN, son of Mr. and Mrs. T. D. GLADDEN of Gladden heights, were united in marriage at 9:30 o'clock Saturday morning, June 19, 1937, in the rectory of St. Alphonsus' church, the Rev. Fr. J. A. BURGOON officiating. The bride was attired in ivory lace with matching accessories and wore a corsage of yellow roses. The bridesmaid, Miss Margaret MURPHY, sister of the bride, wore navy blue sheer, with
accessories to match and her corsage was of talisman roses. The young couple left on a Northern honeymoon trip. Upon their return they will reside in Gladden heights.  The bride is a graduate of Edinboro State Teachers' college and taught in the McDonald public school. The bridegroom is a graduate of Adrian college, Michigan, and has employment with the Manufacturers Light and Heat Co. in Washington.
