POWELSON - GILLES.
[ GILLES is the Groom. ]
Miss Mary K. POWELSON and Mr. Edmond GILLES, both of Midway, were united in marriage at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon, September 10, 1924, at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. George H. POWELSON. The Rev. W. E. THOMPSON, pastor of the M. E. church of Midway, performed the ceremony. The bride was dressed in white canton crepe trimmed in lace, satin ribbon and rosebuds and carried a bouquet of sweetheart roses showered with lilies of the valley. The home was decorated with ferns and cut flowers. The guest list included the members of the two families and Louis POWELSON of Crosscreek, grandfather of the bride, and William SOULERET of McDonald. At three o'clock a light lunch was served by Miss Louise GILLES, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Ida POWELSON, sister of the bride. At four o'clock the happy couple left for an extended visit with relatives at Uhrichsville and Cadiz, Ohio. Mr. and Mrs. GILLES will be at home to their many friends after September 22d at the home of the bride's parents.

Miss Virginia McBRIDE, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. M. McBRIDE of Wilmerding
[Allegheny Co PA], and Lieut. Dr. Benjamin GILLESPIE of Painsville, Ohio,
were married Wednesday evening, October 16, 1940, in the Wilmerding Presbyterian
church. The bride, a graduate nurse of the West Penn hospital, Pittsburgh, is a granddaughter of Mrs. John
McBRIDE of Wilmerdig, formerly of
Clinton [Pa].
She has a number of relatives and friends in Clinton and Coraopolis [Pa].
