April 17th, at 8 p.m., at the home of the officiating minister, Dr. W. D. IRONS, of McDonald, Pa., occurred the marriage of Robert M. GILES and Miss Josephine Violet CHEESEBROUGH, both of McDonald. Mr. GILES is a son of Mr. and Mrs. William GILES of Fanny street and Miss CHEESEBROUGH is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William CHEESEBROUGH of Barr street. After a wedding trip in the east, Mr. and Mrs. GILES will go to housekeeping in the George SMITH block in east Lincoln avenue, McDonald.

Miss JOSEPHINE VIOLET CHEESEBROUGH,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. WILLIAM A. CHEESEBROUGH
of Barr street, and ROBERT WILLIAMSON GILES, son of
Mr. and Mrs. WILLIAM GILES of Fanny street, were united
in marriage at eight o'clock Monday evening, April 17, 1922,
at the home of the officiating minister, the Rev. W. D. IRONS, D.D., pastor of the First United Presbyterian church. The bride
who was unattended, wore a traveling suit of tan tweed with hat to match and carried a shower bouquet of sweetheart roses.
Mr. and Mrs. GILES are both well known in the community. They will be at home after May first in George Smith's new
apartments in East Lincoln avenue.

Announcement has been made of the marriage of Miss Margaret APPLE, daughter of Mrs. Mary APPLE of South Greensburg and Mrs.?? Thomas B. GILES, son of Mr. and Mrs.
William GILES of Fanny street. The wedding took place October 13th in the parsonage of the Methodist Episcopal church in Cumberland, Md. Mrs. GILES is widely
known in the social circles of Greensburg and was employed in the A. E.
TRAUTMAN store of that place. Mr. GILES is employed by the West Penn Power company. They
will make their home with the bride's mother in South Greensburg.

A miscellaneous shower was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. GILES, Friday evening, June 7, in honor of Miss Celia FABRE, whose marriage to Walter E. GILES occurred Wednesday evening, June 12. The evening was spent in playing fames, and music furnished by Emile HOYAUX and Clarence CROSS. The
out-of-town-guests were Miss Romain BELL of Braddock and Miss Ethel FEREDAY of Sturgeon.

GILES - PIGGFORD
Miss Mary TESS, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John L. PIGGFORD of Monongahela
[Pa], and William W. Giles of McDonald [Pa], son of Walter GILES of
Imperial [Pa], formerly of McDonald [Pa], were united in marriage at six o'clock Saturday evening June 14, 1941,
in the home of the bride's parents. The Rev. Howard M. PAPE, pastor of the
Roscoe [Pa] Methodist church, performed the ceremony before an improvised altar of
roses, daisies, peonies, and orange blossoms.
The bride wore a gown of white flowered organza with a finger-tip veil. She
carried a bouquet of white lilies tied with a wide satin ribbon. Her only jewelry
was a cameo brooch belonging to her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Paul
KEGEL, of
Phoenix, Ariz. The bridesmaids were Miss Mary Jane LELSO of Glendale, Calif.,
a cousin of the bride, who wore a gown of pale yellow net and Miss Philomena
PAGLIARULO
of West Elizabeth [Pa], who wore a gown of pale pink net. Both bridesmaids wore
matching halos and carried bouquets of yellow and pink roses, Mr. Edward
TANNER of
McDonald [Pa], cousin of the bridegroom, served as bestman. Mr. Ralph
BRABSON of
McDonald [Pa] played the wedding music.
A turkey supper was served in St. Pauls' parish house, Monongahela [Pa], after which
the young couple left for a honeymoon trip through the Southern States.
Mr. GILES is employed by the West Penn Power Co., McDonald.

Local Soldier Weds in Japan

William Robert GILL and Irene MAJORKIEWICE
were married July 16, at Tokyo Religion Center, Toyko, Japan. The bride was formerly of Palo Alto, Calif., and has been employed
by the War department as chief clerk at Legal Section G.H.Q., where Mr. GILL has been stationed as a captain in the Army of
Occupation for one and a half years. He has just received his
discharge from the army and will remain in Japan with Occupation Forces for some time.
