The marriage of Miss Louise GUERIN of Sturgeon and Mr. James GASTON of Oakdale
took place on Wednesday evening, November 17, 1926, at the home of the bride.
The Rev. M. W. RIDDLE, pastor of the United Presbyterian church of Oakdale,
performed the ceremony.

GASVODA - CARELLE
Miss Catherine Margaret CARELLE, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James CARELLE of
McDonald [Pa], and Mr. Michael Frank GASVODA of Southview [Pa] were united in marriage at
nine o'clock Saturday morning, September 14, 1940, in St. Alphonsus' church,
McDonaLd [Pa], before a flowered altar. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Fr. J. A.
BURGOON.
The bride wore a gown of brocaded satin with a long train and a veil cascading from
a tiara of seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of white roses, an orchid, and
babysbreath. The maid of honor, Miss Ann ZIRWAS of McDonald [Pa], wore a gown of wine brocaded
taffeta and carried yellow roses and blue delphinium. Miss Mary CARELLE
of
McDonald [Pa],
a cousin of the bride, was a bridesmaid and wore a peach brocaded taffeta gown. She
carried pink roses with blue delphinium. Miss Mary Margaret BOZIC of
Canonsburg [Pa],
a niece of the bridegroom, a bridesmaid, wore a blue taffeta brocaded gown and carried
a similar bouquet. Mr. Tony URBANIC of Southview [Pa] served as bestman and Mr.
Edward FIGANE of Strabane and Mr. John KOTFIS of McDonald [Pa] were the ushers.
A reception was held in the CARELLE home with over a hundred guests in attendance.
Dancing was held in the evening in the Southview [Pa] hall [sic] with approximatey 400 guests.
The young couple left for Niagara Falls and upon their return will reside in
Bridgeville [Pa], where Mr. GASVODA is employed.

IN HONOR OF BRIDE
[ GATES - O'BRIEN ]
The occasion of the homecoming of Harry GATES and his bride, who was formerly Miss
Veronica O'BRIEN, of McDonald, was celebrated Friday evening, at the GATES home,
R. D. 8, when a number of relatives and friends gave a dinner
party. The table was decorated with vari-colored sweet peas, and centered with a bride's cake, and a five-course chicken dinner was
served at 6 o'clock. The guest list included Mrs. James O'BRIEN, the brides mother, who will make her home with her daughter;
Mr. and Mrs. Bruce GATES, Mr. and Mrs. John GATES and daughter BETTY, Mrs.
Edward CARR and children, Rhea [CARR] and Edward [CARR]; Mrs. James MELANEY and
Harry GATES, Jr. Later in the evening the bride was serenaded.

SJODEN - GEDEON
[ GEDEON is the Groom. ]
On Saturday afternoon, June 2, 1923 Miss Edith Wanda SJODEN, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew John SJODEN became the bride of Mr. Peter Lewis GEDEON, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. A. GEDEON, formerly of McDonald. The ceremony was performed at the home of the bride's parents in Titusville, Pa. Peter was very well known among the residents of this district, having assisted his father in the newspaper business, and who now holds a very responsible position with the Cyclop Steel company. After a short trip the young couple will go to housekeeping in Titusville, Pa.
