GAMBS - BURNS
Miss Helen Mary BURNS, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. BURNS of Third street, McDonald, and Lieut. Gerard Charles GAMBS of the military staff of Ohio State university,
son of Mr. and Mrs. C. R. GAMBS of Columbus, Ohio, were united in marriage at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 1942, in the rectory of St. Alphonsus church, McDonald, by
the Rev. Fr. J. A. BURGOON. This was the thirty-first wedding anniversary of the bride's parents.
The bride wore a poudre blue dress with matching accessories and a corsage of orchids. The maid of honor, Miss Anna Jane BURNS, sister of the bride, wore pink with matching accessories and a corsage of gardenias. Charles
GAMBS, brother of the bridegroom served as bestman. The immediate family witnessed the ceremony.

Mr. and Mrs. L.A. GAMONDE of East Lincoln avenue announce the marriage of their son John Louis [GAMONDE] to Letitia TACCHINO of Primrose, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Philip PREVOST, on August 15, 1934, in Wheeling, W.Va.
At the same time Joseph CROCKER, son of Mr. and Mrs. CROCKER of McDonald, and Helen AUGUSTINE, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. AUGUSTINE of McDonald, were united in marriage.

The marriage of Miss Olive DAVIES, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. A. E. DAVIES of Clinton avenue, Oakdale,

James GARDINER, son of Mr. and Mrs.
James GARDINER, Sr., of McDonald, will take place at 6:00 p.m.
Wednesday, December 31 in the home of the bride's
parents. The Rev. W. V. RITCHIE will perform the ceremony. An open house reception will be held at 7:00 p.m.
in the downstairs rooms of the Oakdale U. P. church.

GARDINER - DAVIES
Miss Olive DAVIES, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
A. E. DAVIES of Clinton avenue, Oakdale, and James GARDINER, son of Mr. and Mrs. James GARDINER, SR.,
of McDonald, were untied in marriage at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 31, 1947, in the home of the bride. The Rev. W. V.
RITCHIE, pastor of the Oakdale U. P. church, performed the double ring ceremony.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attired in a white satin gown. Her fingertip veil fell from a tiara of beads.
She wore the brooch which her grandmother had worn on her
wedding dress and a bracelet which was an heirloom in the GARDINER family. She carried a bouquet of white roses and
snapdragons.
The matron of honor, Mrs. Mildred COX, sister of the bride, wore a beige street length dress with a corsage of red
roses and palms. The bridesmaid was Miss Josephine GARDINER, sister-in-law of the bridegroom, who wore a
blue dress and a corsage of red roses and palms. Randall
GARDINER, brother of the bridegroom, served as bestman and Walter DAVIES, brother of the bride, was an usher.
Following the ceremony a reception for 50 guests was held in the social room of the Oakdale U. P. church. A three
tiered wedding cake formed the table centerpiece.
Mr. GARDINER is employed by the Weirton Steel Co. They plan to reside in
Weirton [W.Va.]

Miss Elizabeth COCHRAN of Fanny street, McDonald, while visiting relatives in South Bend, Ind., last week, in a letter to her family announced that she and Henry GARDNER Jr. of Station street were married August 30th last in Conneaut, Ohio. The bride is the youngest daughter of Mrs. Cassie COCHRAN and the late John COCHRAN of McDonald.
