FREY ? O?BRIEN
A quaint summer wedding, with the bride in hoopskirts and the attendants in dotted Swiss picture hats, was that of Suzanne Marie O?BRIEN
and George W. FREY, Jr., Saturday, July 13, 1946, in St. Paul?s Cathedral, Pittsburgh.
The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald G. O?BRIEN, Jr., of Wallingford street, wore a white satin gown fashioned with a yoke of fine marquisette attached by a seed pearl band to an off-the-shoulder bertha. Her hooped skirt was decorated with a wide band of heirloom Carrick-ma-Cross lace. She carried a bouquet of white orchids and stephanotis.
Dorothy O?BRIEN, as her sister?s maid of honor, wore a pale blue dotted Swiss dress with an off-the-shoulder neckline, a fitted bodice, and bouffant skirt. Her large picture hat was of the same material as her dress and she carried an arm bouquet of Ascension lilies and blue delphinium.
The bridesmaids, Mrs. Uno M. ELDER, Mrs. Sherwood C. MARTIN, Patricia
FREY, Mildred LIVINGSTON, Mrs. J. William EY, and Mrs. Elmer E. PRATT, wore dresses that matched the maid of honor?s in yellow, pink, and blue.
Mr. Frey, son of Mr. and Mrs. George W. FREY of Niagara Falls, N.Y., asked Elmer A.
LUNDBERG, Jr., to serve as his bestman.
Ushering were Gerald G. O?BRIEN III, Donald M. Frey, H. Fred FAUBRING, David S.
DICKINSON, Thomas C. PRATT, Jr., and Arthur F. WITTSTOCK.
After a wedding trip to Sea Island, Ga., Mr. and Mrs. FREY will make their home in Niagara Falls.
Mrs. FREY is a granddaughter of Mrs. August VALENTOUR, Sr., of Station street, McDonald.

Miss Betty BRABSON, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John R. BRABSON of Midway [Pa], and Lt. Robert
FRIDAY, a pilot in the Army air corps stationed at
Salt Lake City, Utah, son of Mrs. Lillian FRIDAY of Midway [Pa], were united in marriage at 7:30 p.m. Monday, January 17, 1944, in the Midway Methodist church.
The pastor, the Rev. C. E. CHAPMAN, performed the ceremony, assisted by the Rev.
Alfred HUBBARD, pastor of the Center United Presbyterian church.
Preceding the ceremony, Mrs. Charles RIEHL, Jr., pianist, played McDOWELL's "To a Wild Rose," C. C.
MORRISON's "Meditation,"
"Because," and "Memories." Miss Gwendolyn CUSICK of Butler, a student at Muskingum
college [sic], sang
"The Sweetiest Story Ever Told" and "I Love You Truly." She was accompanied at the piano by Mrs.
RIEHL. The vows were exchanged before an embankment of ferns.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown fashioned of white satin
and net, princess style, with a sweetheart neckline. The skirt of white net cascaded from the white satin bodice. Her fingertip veil was fastened to a small
Juliet cap trimmed with seed pearls. Her bouquet was of white roses and baby breath.
For something old, the bride wore a bracelet belonging to her grandmother
BRABSON an a ring fashioned from earrings which belonged to her maternal grandmother, the late Mrs. Alexander Bell.
The maid of honor, Miss Mary Lou BELL, cousin of the bride, wore an aqua satin gown,
styled similar to the bride's. She carried a bouquet of pink roses. Miss Lucille
MOREAU, as
bridesmaid, wore pink satin and carried yellow roses. Each attendant wore a coronet of pink and blue ribbons.
Harry E. LOUER of Pittsburgh [Pa], uncle of the bridegroom, served as bestman and Jack
SMYERS of Enlow [Pa] and Bernard BOOCKS of Midway [Pa] were ushers.
The bride's mother wore a powder blue ensemble with fushia accessories and a corsage of roses. The bridegroom's mother wore purple and a corsage of red roses.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the basement of the church. A buffet lunch was served to over 60 guests. The centerpiece was a large wedding
cake adorned with a miniature soldier and his bride and a color scheme of pink and white was used in the decorations.
Both Lieutenant and Mrs. FRIDAY are graduates of Midway high school. Previous to his
enlistment in the Air corps, Lieutenant FRIDAY was affiliated with the Columbia Steel Corp of Carnegie.
Mrs. FRIDAY was employed at the Westinghouse.
Lieutenant FRIDAY will report to Salt Lake City, Utah, at the end of his leave. Mrs.
FRIDAY
will reside with her parents until plans can be made to join her husband.

Miss Evelyn McCUEN, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harper McCUEN of Imperial, became the bride of Clarence H.
FRITZ, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence H. Fritz, Sr., of Imperial, at 4:30 o?clock Saturday afternoon in the Valley Presbyterian church, Imperial. The Rev. Calvin
LOGAN, pastor, performed the double ring ceremony before the altar adorned with ferns and yellow chrysanthemums. Preceding the ceremony Miss Lila
JUNKER sang ?Because? accompanied by Miss Ellen YOLTON.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a satin gown with a fitted bodice, sweetheart neckline, long pointed sleeves, and a furlough train. Her fingertip veil of net was held in place with orange blossoms. She wore a single strand of pearls which was a gift of the bridegroom and carried a bouquet of white rosebuds centered with a white orchid and tied with white satin streamers.
Miss Rita NIST of Pittsburgh was maid of honor and wore a blue velvet gown with a matching tiara. Miss Marian McCUEN
was her sister?s bridesmaid, and wore a melon velvet gown with a matching tiara. They carried bouquets of red rosebuds. Mrs.
McCUEN, mother of the bride, wore a brown suit with matching accessories.

Immediately following the ceremony a dinner was held at Club 22. Covers were laid for 15 at the bride?s table.
A reception for 75 guests was held later in the evening in the home of the bride.
The young couple left for a motor trip to Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia.
The bride is a 1941 graduate of North Fayette high school and the bridegroom a 1941 graduate of Findley high school. He served overseas in the army for three years in the
E.T.O. He was honorably discharged October 12, 1945, and is employed by
SOCONY Vacumum [sic] Oil Co., McKees Rocks. They are residing for the present with the bride?s parents.

Miss Josephine GOBLECK, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Julian GOBLECK, Sr., of Raccoon [Pa.] and
Mr. Jules FRIZZIE, son of Mr. A. FRIZZIE of Midway [Pa.] were united in marriage Saturday morning,
April 30, 1938, in St. Patrick's church, Pittsburgh, by the Rev. Father Cox. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Henrietta GOBLECK, of Raccoon [Pa.]. Mr. Angelo ZANETTE
of Pittsburgh attended the bridegroom. The bride was attired in white lace over satin with head piece held in place with rhinestones and short veil. She
carried a bouquet of sweet peas and lilies of the valley. After the ceremony
they returned to the home of the bride where a reception was attended by a large host of relatives
and friends. Mr. FRIZZIE is a 1929 graduate of Midway [Pa.] high school and is
employed at present by the E. OLSON Construction Co. of Pittsburgh. The young couple will
make their home with the bridegroom's father in Midway [Pa.].
